lockers for an FG

Hi John,
I hope it's not a Lockrite type of locker your looking at.

We even seriously looked at making our own axles and using an existing diff locked centre. With the FG it was not that simple. I just spoke to our guy 5 minutes ago and we're still moving forward with a mechanical locker anyway.

Hi Alan. No mate. The design we're looking at should work in the front without stuffing the steering up.

Thats right, they sold the design to TJM, but I don't think Mc namara's were the actual producer.

Hey thanks guys for the tip. I'll see how we go with our existing plans first. It might still come in handy. Tah.

I finally got a chance to get the front diff out today, so tomorrow it go's to the locker specialist to see what is possible.

^^ That is cool, how about some pics of the MAN?

DzlToy, i posted some pics of our last trip (with my truck and dads MAN in it) in the "tyre pressures on trucks" thread. i think its still on the first page.

There is an easy fix to this locker problem- Minispool! works great as long as you never have to turn a corner!

Alternatively fit some MAN planetary axles under the thing- might weigh 520kg each but you get 19" air disc brakes, air lockers and hub reduction- not to mention a substantially lower COG...

I finally got a price to make a one off front air locker for the canter, $4000 dollars, a little steep! waiting on another quote from a different company.

wow-wow-wee-waa!! that is pretty steep man. in all honesty you'd have to be doin some pretty serious offroading to justify one. i do some fairly ridiculous stuff in mine and never needed it yet.

Why mess with weird axles that no one supports in the aftermarket when there are tons of options out there that are hugely supported?

Dana 60/70/80 and stock (non $4000) air locker and you are set...(or AAM or 14 bolt, Sterling, etc)
