Looking for feedback on flatbed trays.

Coming from one that has built a few over the years, and currently running what I consider my best yet (and likely my last)
I would recommend you buy the very best you can afford. Place quality above cost.

A properly built bed not only costs a decent amount in materials, but a rather absurd amount of labor, not to mention R&D

Great rig! Did Hillsboro build your tapered under-bed boxes or did somebody else?
I saw this jewel and bought it. The foundation is a Hillsborough bed…still has label. It appears to me that the underneath storage boxes and wheel fenders were custom fabricated. The upper boxes seem to be purchased stock units slightly modified. Whoever put this together had experience and skills.

Idasho can you tell me more about your tie down or bolt system? I noticed you have some sort of guide pocket for camper alignment, looks similar to Bimobil setups. I really like that. Just returned from my camper extraction from Red Lodge with this unicorn and I'm looking at tie down (or bolts or clamps) and alignment options. This will come on and off a lot. Note the temp tie downs I used to bring her home. Had about 1/2 inch of movement, obviously not using straps full time:

What is the weight difference between an aluminum tray and stock bed? I'm curious about a purpose built like Norweld and a plain flat generic.

Its entirely integrated into the bed. Just four 5/16 bolts hold the entire thing together.

Receivers on the bed. Mounts that locate and slip into the bed, thru-bolted to the camper itself.
Best I could come up with, and works extremely well. Takes less than 10 minutes to load, and half that to unload. (y)
