LR3 "Key In Ignition" without a Key in the Ignition?

Last Night my wife's 2006 LR3 Key started to act up like the battery is out. She unlocked the door manual and then drove home. When she got home and removed the key the truck keep giving the "Key In Ignition" message and bell tone, like she left the key in the ignition. No key! Its a problem as the car wants to keep the lights on.

Does anyone know a "Hard Reset" method for the computer or have any ideas as to what could be up?

I disconnected the battery all last night with no luck this morning.
