Yes, it is the mitchell. Pricey but was what I wanted. Lr version is a waste IMHO.

Not sure what you mean on receiver insert or hitch pin Nathan. Hitch pin (any) fit stock, and I don't know of anything that comes with a receiver insert. They are only $10.

Yeah, never mind my comment. I misunderstood the Note on their website about what was not included. I see in the photos (after clicking the More info ) link that the eyelet is on the top has been omitted, and the tongue insert thing was just a brain fart on my end

Anyone have experience with the asfir skid plates?

I had the full compliment on my LR3, excluding the hard to find rear diff skid. Generally, very happy with them, though not the rock sliders, which to their credit are only described as "rocker panel protection". They are sacrificial, which is not adequate for my needs in how I used my 3. I have photos of them that i'll post later when at a PC

The truck really needs some skids. I was shocked to find a few vulnerable parts underneath. Fortunately it is all quite flat.

We have installed some prototype rock sliders from Lucky 8. They are aluminum and quite light. The passenger side took some modification because of the air tank and rear AC lines. Even with that, it was a 2 hour job.

Alu would be very nice. Would love to see how that tests out. Question for you Scott, how far under does it wrap? For instance does it cover the compressor, etc?

Oh Justin.... shall I add this to my fuel tank skid order? :sombrero:

It only protects the rocker and just past the pinch weld. They are simple sliders which I actually like. Very light weight.

Here's a photo that more or less shows the underbody with the ASFIR skid plating underneath. The photo includes RoverSpeciaties rock sliders though. I will state that I think the Mantec front plate offers more coverage of the front bumper, but I'm not sure if you can mix and match. I think I looked into this and determined you couldn't without some significant modification, but it's been over 8 years now, and my memory is not what..... um, what were we talking about?

I had a bunch of detailed photos of the RS sliders and the ASFIR plates on my old website, but that was a long time ago. If you search some of the LR3 specific sub-forums, you'll probably find some old build/install threads where I detailed them out in writing and photographically.
