Awesome!

I've been wondering how the Ashcroft will hold-up, glad to see someone document putting it through it's paces!

.

The ABT Did better than expected.

DEFINITELY can't wait to see the end-result/finished offering for a P38 snorkel! Would love to actually have a production model available :D

We received the mandrel bent snorkel today. Next is aligning the attachment points to the body then Production.

Hi Justin. Great thread.
What are your thoughts about normal everyday road use for a P38 fitted with an ABT?

I do not notice it when driving around town. The only time I knew it was there was when we are in extremely low traction situations.

I remember reading about Kaiser diffs and everyone mentioned that they could become very noisy on tight turns on tarmac (like parking maneuvers).

I do not have any first-hand experience. But the feedback is that The Kaiser unit is a little too aggressive for street use

Everything about this build makes me so damn happy, haha!

... Not to mention how fantastic it'd be if a production model snorkel was finally available!

I think the problem is mostly reserved for trucks with manual transmissions from what I have heard. I've had one in for 3 yrs and have had no problems with it, but its in an auto. You've been in and around my 97 Justin, have you ever noticed it?

Do you have the Locker or true track style ?

AND the only thing I remember about your truck is the seats!

Nope. I have a set of Corbeu GTS II's. The side bolsters can catch the unwary if they try to slide out of the seat like you would in a normal Defender seat. Lets just say they are perfectly positioned to leave you talking in a very high voice for a while and bring tears to your eyes... :)

Project update : Snorkel V2.2

I think we are getting very close to a final product. I'm sure your opinions do not need any solicitation so let me have them.

I want to lower the intake head so it is flush with the roof line.

With the top lowered I think it will blend into the truck nicely.

That looks very very good.
I would love to see how its routed inside the fender or engine bay.
Looks like a promising product.

Thanks for the efforts.
