aluminum radiator
QUOTE: "I have been driving the P38 for the last week and just to say thank you the Rad overflow tab snapped off. It was probably for the best because that one had 150k on it and I would rather it fail at the MALL then in the woods. "
That is a common failure point on the P38's dreaded radiator. I decided to alleviate any further issues and got a custom aluminum radiator built with a metal nipple that will never break. The radiator also has increased cooling efficiency and after counting the rows, this one has 67 vs. the OEM at 58. The top and bottom brackets are also aluminum so I should get further cooling from them vs plastic. The radiator is a drop-in replacement and very high quality as you will see below.
I felt it was worth the extra money spent after I overheated on the Lippincott Grade in Death Valley last year. I also replaced my water pump, thermostat, viscous fan, and a few hoses while I was at it...
Here is a picture of the radiator and METAL nipple:

If you are interested, PM me and I can get you in touch with the fabricator.
I also can't live without a tailgate. Once you have one, you can't buy a truck without one. It is just soo functional.
