So you bought two trucks in one week? Sounds like you played the 'birthday' card.

I think you need to run it on 35's with no lift, just clearancing the fenders.

2nd that, but slightly an over reaction. Put the crap on it appropriate for your planned use, nothing more, nothing less. It is pure fact, some after market things such as rock sliders far exceed quality and sturdiness of LR tube bars for my LR3, however, a lot of other hardening is not required for my anticipated use, and therefore, not going to carry it around. Not a big deal, but Justin does super and goes the extra mile to get the bits and pieces you need, and has for me on several occasions. Additionally, he is the first to talk you out of wasting money on more expensive gear when better gear can be had for less. You can't buy that online normally.

Back to your regularly scheduled P38 program...

Thanks Justin

Justin has supplied me enough parts to get my truck more stuck then I did when it was stock. I just ripped the plastic trim off my disco last week from a nice rock. Can't wait for my TF rocksliders to show up.

Interested to see what bumpers you come up with. The P38 appears a bit awkward (IMO) when fitted with most of the presently available aftermarket bumpers. I remember Lucky8 had a P at MAR a couple years back and the front bumper fitted to that vehicle blended nicely. Never seen one like it again. I've been slowly pushing my P's further offroad, and they are definitely under-utilized by the community given their ability, even in stock form. It will be nice to see what can be done to neutralize some of the electrickery worries.
See you at the Romp? I'll be driving a white P38, probably the only one there.

Less talk. More build.

So what is wrong with the "parts truck"? It looks like the one you be wheeling. Its already got all the crap on it!

Now that's a good question for you Justin. You've got a trailer and more than a week to plow away at the P... Are we going to see a Lucky8 P38 at the Winter Romp?

What's the specifics? Why is it a parts truck? Wouldnt it be easier to use the parts rig as your base vehicle?

At the dealership I work at we have a p38 as our parts runner. It's a trooper. It's been lifted about 4 inches, has the SD rack, factory winch mount and the obligatory warn winch. it's been through a few diffs and a couple of engines (one due to engine fire, one hydro locked) but its never had becm trouble or any major electrical issues

The parts truck dose not run and has a rotten undercarriage.

Project Update

I have been driving the P38 for the last week and just to say thank you the Rad overflow tab snapped off. It was probably for the best because that one had 150k on it and I would rather it fail at the MALL then in the woods.

I dont know why the tailgate is so much nicer to use then a door but it is.

NOW for the good news! Terrafirma has sent over the first set of their new bead lock rims for the D2 and the P38.

photo-3.jpg

They also will have the Dakar rim available for the P38 and the D2

I hope to have a full commitment from a vender on the lift kits next week.

Justin,
Did you ever look into those Hutchinson wheels we were talked about?
