thanks guys for the responses

The reasons I want to go with a MAN KAT are because of the cool factor:sombrero: you dont see these trucks here in the US so I would like to be one of the few who has one, I like the design much more then the American military trucks and they are much more offroad capable.

I found a few under $20K Euros and a couple more just a tab above that so the initial price isn't to bad. hopefully for parts I can find a good supplier whether here or in Europe. I would order a few spare items so I have them if need be.

The good thing is my buddy owns a diesel shop and can fix just about anything and he is a fabricator as well.

Victorian: that is one sweet truck what did it cost to build? Do you have any inside pics?

Inside pics: yes. somewhere in paper form... Have to look for them... But it's pretty cool! Full size shower, electrical adjustable seating area, ice machine, french toilet and much more useless stuff :Wow1:
Price: Not sure, but this one was a used one, we completely redid for around 1.000.000. The original frame was a support truck for the Porsche Rally Dakar team in the 80's. It was then converted into a camper, had one owner for 10-15 years (not sure anymore) and then got bought and re furbished.

It sounds like it has a lot of cool stuff inside.. dang that is a lot of money you can buy a nice house for that even here in California :Wow1:

So do you own a company that refurbishes these trucks?

Man Kat's are used by the US military. I've seen quite a few of them driving around Fort Drum in upstate NY. Don't know when they'll show up on the used US military equipment market.

Not sure how much I can tell about the 6x6 in a public forum...

1. Wider
2. Longer
3. Made into a 6x6
4. AMG engine
6. Conversion into a convertible
7. Height adjustable single seats
8. Many more useless features

Ok, I'll admit, after seeing one of these MANs driving down I-10 today in SoCal, it's a VERY cool rig. I was heading back home to Phoenix this afternoon, and passed one outside Palm Springs, German plates and flag on back (at least I think the plates where German).
