Well I guess there's the joke, because I was going to reply and say that I wasn't sure that it was the coolest Disco EVER, but it is pretty sweet and some very well thought out modifications. I'm enjoying the updates.:)

haha. that's okay. rear bumper is going to be built (and hopefully finished) this weekend, and i'm putting some 1" spacers in the rear.

the roof rack is up for sale now too, if anyone is interested.

I was looking back through the thread, and I personally know, and value the opinion of Pangaea, Monkeyboy and Revor so it's not just my opinion that it's a nice truck.

i'm in the process of building a rear bumper. i got the main beam and mounts done, but i don't have any pictures right now. i also got some 1" spacers for the rear, but have yet to isntall them.

Warning: A plasma cutter will spoil you!

yes! i can not wait! hours with the skill saw are wearing me down! i could've done in an hour what took me five on saturday. i only got the mounts made for the bumper. no pictures yet, but i will have some in two weeks when i can get back into the shop to finish it up. hopefully i will have a plasma cutter by then.

anyone have a recommendation for a plasma cutter around $500-$600?

i won't be cutting more than 1/4" steel...

actually we decided for a different cutter. the ebay auction on that one closed. i'll post pictures of it when it comes in.

got some work done today:

these 1" aluminum spacers for the rear really helped the looks of the truck. the rear has been sagging with the weight i carry daily (due to MD springs instead of HD). the brake lines, however, are almost taught at full flex. the OME shocks keep them from being over extended.

with that being said, i'm ordering new brake lines for the rear tomorrow. any input on where to get them from? i know RTE and EE carry them. anywhere else?

over all, the rear spacers and bolts cost me $20, thanks to lowe's and Roving Beetle on Discoweb. speaking of which, i drove his TDi DII and it's awesome. i'm going down to red mountain rovers to piddle around in it some more later this week. i talked to Bart(one fo the owners) for three hours yesterday adn he let me drive whatever trucks i wanted. but anyways...

tomorrow i'm going to fix my exhaust leak. i need a gasket and a stud so hopefully that'll be less than $20 to fix.

i'm getting the tires rebalanced/rotated/ aired back up tomorrow. taking advantage of the costco tire service! i've been getting vibrations at around 50 MPH due to unbalanced tires.

i should have more updates later in the week! stay tuned...

Dude it does look a lot better! Great job! I'll have to take a side shot of my truck to see how bad the sag is with the new cargo box, I'll let you know if I'll be needing spacers!

Nice! I made my own rear spacers to level out the load when I had my DI.

it's immediately noticeable. i knew it was sagging, but man, i didn't realize how much! i can feel it inside the truck as well. i really like the stance now. the rear tires no longer seem to sit inside the wheel wells when it's flat.

I have spacers in the rear with my OME 762 springs with OME shocks. Question: Are your shocks topping out at all over bumps or what not?

I was riding on a sandy bumpy road and I kept hearing a bang in the back, I could feel it too. But my sways are connected so maybe the shocks weren't topping, the sways were catching. Idk. I didn't think my shocks would top out even hopping around with OME springs and a spacer. The spacer is 1.5"
