So, in OKC your camping months would be Sep to April unless you have AC. No way you would survive any other months anywhere near there unless you enjoy sleeping in your own sweat. Keep in mind most places these campers go actually cool down once the sun sets.

In my RTT’s and ground tents, it was the same for camping in OK. More like October to Feb. Lol. I frequent CO and NM mostly. Would like to camp more in OK even in warmer months but that humidity can be brutal. Not sure why I act surprised; have lived in OK for 37 of my 39 years. Ha!

Thanks for all the input!

I am from OK so a lot of experience there. I made the mistake of trying to camp one time in May in the Kiamichi mountains and about got carried away by mosquito's. If it wasn't them it was the heat and other bugs. I never made that mistake again. When I go back to camp it is only between Oct and Feb for the most part. My preference is for snow and cold. That is when it is fun to me.

No doubt! Cold weather camping is my jam, too. Those skeeters are brutal during the spring and summer in OK. I have thought about camping in AZ (Sedona/Flagstaff) and other places during the warmer months. Sounds like the fan does plenty to keep things cool. Getting closer to biting the bullet for one of these.

Congratulations! I hope you enjoy your MO trailer as much as we enjoy ours.

Well, I signed the papers for a new Mission Overland Summit trailer today. I appreciate all the helpful comments on this forum. Looking forward to seeing the build progress on Instagram and Facebook and can’t wait to get out in it in the new year.

Where did you get the trailer from?

Just put in a screen door and run the fan to draw outside air in. Also a few minutes before getting in for the night ,spray some Raid to take care of anything that got in. Works great.

I got it (well, WILL get it) direct from them. It’s part of the upcoming build so I should be able to pick it up in Alberta in January. It’s “only” an 11-hr drive but the scenery is spectacular.

Great. I got mine in Bozeman. MT You will really enjoy it.

We ordered direct which was great! Went to Fargo to pick up which was 20hrs for us but border was closed.

Ask them what tires are going to come with the trailer. Should be ProComps

Lokks like the cold weather is slowing things down here. So I thought I'd toss something up to Mike and the gang who have either done this already, or who are thinking about doing it. Now the the nighttime temps are in the low 20's deg. F., its time for me to work out in my unheated garage. Snark. Mike, I've thought about what you have said and have decided to put this on the right side. I will leave the original alone. I will have to move some wiring and the control box for the electric braking system. It looks like a pretty tight fit. I'll let you know what it ends up looking like.

The air track I installed earlier this fall sure is working out well.

It gives me a place to carry several canvas totes full of firewood for camping.

BTW, we've been using those Kermit chairs for over a decade now. We love them; very comfortable! I wish I could figure out a simple way to permanently mount the aluminum extensions to the legs though.

Only two times out this year due to Covid. How did everyone else fare? I'm still planning on doing the ORBDR and HOTW trips in 2021.

This was Tucker's last camping trip. We had to put him down a couple of weeks ago. He had a great life and lived to be almost 15. But what a hole in our hearts he has left.
