Great thread! My wife and I have been looking at different types of teardrops and this one definitely ranks high on the list. Hard to find one that checks all the boxes, especially having a place for both of our 80lb + dogs to sleep at night. Hopefully we are able to make a decision on which one we want to go with and get some camping in here on the east coast later this year!

Wow, not one but two 80 lb dogs! That's a lot of dog my friend. You probably can bring the two dogs into the camper with you at night. Mark has gone to a different, and better, mounting system for the table in back. So I'm guessing you could easily get one dog to sleep below the table and one at the foot of the bed near the entrance. It may be tight though. What kind of dogs are they? My Tucker is only ~ 45 lbs and he typically wants to sleep with us in the bed, ha ha.

If we are lucky that will be the situation haha. Most other teardrops I have seen, there is a cabinet on one end of the bed, which hinders space for one of the pooches. But typically they sleep with my wife and I every night in our queen sized bed, so the Mission trailer seems to be a good fit. Well either the Mission or Teton X Hybrid trailer, but still also really considering the Boreas XT and just having the dogs sleep in my truck lol.

This is Dexter, he is a 5 year old American Bulldog/Boxer mix.

And this is Duke, he is a 3 year old German Shepard/Pitbull mix.

With those two in bed with you and your wife you probably won't need a heater. Beautiful dogs! Our Tucker would be broken hearted if he didn't sleep with us. We really spoil our pets don't we?

They typically pinch the covers off from you, so you are pretty exposed to the air around you lol. But totally agree, they are basically our children, but wouldn't have it any other way!!

I’ll try not to ramble too much...
my wife and I had a quick look at Beastie up at the NWOR and we both really liked the trailer. After having it in the back of our minds since June, we made the decision a couple of weeks ago that we had to have one of these trailers and got the ball rolling on a deal. This past Friday, with our Xventure XV2 in tow, we left our driveway in Portland at 4:15am and 750 miles and a little less than 12 hours later we arrived in Bozeman, Montana. Also on Friday, Mark @flipmachine was traveling to Bozeman with our new Mission trailer! THANK YOU MARK! Thank you for taking time out of you schedule to deliver the trailer! Here’s a couple of pics of our drive.

it was a restless night in the hotel and our 9am appointment the next morning at Big Sky RV could not come fast enough. Eventually it was time to say so long to our XV2(it is a great trailer and I was kinda worried that I might miss having it as soon as we let it go, but that feeling quickly went a) and say hello to our new Mission Overland!
here’s the old and the newThe guys at Big Sky were great to work with, I’ve got no complaints.

So, back on the road, but this time with the Mission Overland in tow. The timbren suspension soaks up the bumps and potholes so well, this trailer tows great. We stopped in Missoula and spent our first night in our new trailer. Set up is so fast and easy, we had camp ready and dinner on the stove in just a handful of minutes. The Truma furnace barely makes any noise and quickly heats the cabin. I had to ditch my socks and T-shirt in the middle of the night, I was too warm. Camp tear down is also extremely quick compared to what we are used to, it was not long before we hit the road again for one more long day of driving.
KOA’s aren’t ideal spots, but they work in a pinch

On the way home, we had people ask us about the trailer at just about every gas station and rest stop we stopped at, it attracts a bit of attention. We have a quick beach trip planned in a little over a weak and I’m used to 1 or 2 people asking me about the Xventure, we’ll see if it gets any attention in a campground.

I feel like I’m rambling, so I’ll wrap it for now...

Congratulations! I can see so many neat updates that Mark has done on these newer Overlands, and they are all great. The trip this time of year is heroic. Lookout Pass didn’t look like any fun at all. The pass East of Butte looks a lot safer, less snow. We’ll have to start sharing tips on storage, etc.

More pics and comments please!

Vogold,

Here is a handy hint. Look at the Dometic manual that came with the trailer. It will show you how to reverse the top so it opens toward the front of the trailer. I found this a lot easier to get into and stuff out of it. Here is a pic of the frig/freezer open BEFORE I switched it around. Much easier the new way.898D4E97-D16C-4B67-90DB-AF0DC2CFA64F_1_201_a.jpeg

I'm glad he's doing well and selling trailers. But where is the love for previous customers?

He is up to his ears making a bunch of trailers for some RV dealers I believe. So he has come up with a retrofit using the newer style door locks on the two piece doors? That is a great idea. Hadn't even heard of him doing that.

Mark says the supplier can't come up with anything to fit a door that thick. Probably the best option would be to use some kind of slide lock. Or over center clamp...

Thanks for following through on this. Is he still contiemplating a total replacement to a one piece, or is that not looking favorable also?

Hi Dale,
I’m going to flip the lid around on the fridge as soon as it gets here. There was a problem with the original fridge and Mark has ordered a new one and having it shipped to our house. I’m also going to borrow your rok strap idea too. They are much cheaper than the actual fridge straps and probably stronger.
