Hi Pete and Kel,

I am interested to know , is that a tray back tent set up or something off a camper trailer that you have converted?

Anthony

Hi it came off our camper trailer . It is a Oztrail Camper 9 , we just made a wooden frame on the tray and bolted it to it. The drop is a little too tall with the srw but we got by with no worries.

Do have pics of the frame if you want to see them just let us know.
Or just look on our blog there is a few more photos on there now.

Pete, that is our old dualcab rig. we sold it in 05 to a photographer who used it to get to remote spots for his, well, photography... dont think the same bloke owns it, because it was for sale in motorhome trader several months ago for 97k.

Cheers Pete. when we had it, it only had the one spare hanging from the back.

um, long story behind this rig. was first a flat-top from T/L engineering, then had something similar to mine built up from that (with complete canvas cover). it was originally used as a support truck for a canter coach running the canning stock route. when dad got out of tours, he kept this truck and over the next 8 or so years it slowly developed into pretty much what you saw today, with less and less canvas each year, and more and more inside fittings. its a true "bush-truck".

Canter we seen at Roma QLD. Came from Western Australia, The couple tow a caravan and are building a camper body.
One of the great ideas he had was a full length slide out drawer under the tray, very cool.

Spotted this in town yesterday. Very different but obviously well travelled.

Not sure what the extra large autogas tank hanging off the left side was for though . Possibly for gas injection but it was much bigger than normal. One of the reasons we don't often see it fitted to long distance overland vehicles. I'm only guessing as you can see the portable gas bottles for cooking hanging off the back. I'm pretty sure the rear solar array hinges up to the sun angle . There was more solar on the roof as well.

Absolutely no idea why the snorkel was mounted at the rear. I'd have to guess for a genset????? Hey , maybe a gas powered genset.

Also saw this one near home this morning. The guys that own this also have a really cool but old FG crewcab ex-fire truck.

An older model work truck we converted to a motorhome earlier this year.
Windows and doors were already fitted to the work body. Lots of work underneath that you can't see.

Finally a 4dr that is what a family man like me needs to see...
all these great looking 2dr rigs that are absolutely useless if you are taking the kids, this rig is nice!

Andrew, are you interested in doing something in the NT/northern WA area this winter (late June-Sept) or WA in the late spring/summer (assuming I can keep it in the country after Sept.)?
PM me.
I'll be back in Feb but I'm going south/SE for that trip.

Charlie
