Nice story. I don't know how many times I've driven by the signs for that park on the way north and never knew what all was there. I've been to the east of Dillon to the Virginia City/Nevada City area many times, but never went to the west side. Time to plan a road trip.

Bannack and Virginia City are both worthwhile stops in the area. Bannack holds the record for most hangings in a single day.. found that interesting.

The Forest Sevice also maintains a few nice rental cabins in the Dillon area, we stayed at this one and had a great time.

Sweetwater road heading out of Dillon was a nice ride also.

Has anyone been to Bannack this time of year? I am thinking about going there next weekend for my birthday. Wife wants to stay at Chico Hot Springs, which is cool but we've done it a thousand times.
