2005 International CXT 7300 4x4

e-Bay auction scheduled to end 2012-06-12

buy now price is $150,000; reserve not met at $50k

The International CXT or Commercial Extreme Truck is a very large pickup truck. Introduced in September 2004, the CXT is 21.5 ft (6.6 m) long with a 9 ft (2.7 m) tall cab. It is the largest production pickup truck on the market, its curb weight of 14,500 lb (6,600 kg) is around twice the weight of a Hummer H1. Its GVWR is 25,999 lb (11,793 kg).
The CXT is built on an International 7300 chassis and is equipped with the DT 466 diesel engine and is capable of towing up to 20 tons while its air-ride cab and individual bucket seats offer a smooth ride for the driver and 4 adult passengers. The CXT's interior includes luxury options such as DVD and satellite radio. Materials for seats and other upholstery items included leather and ostrich skin. Mechanical features include air brakes, an Allison 2500HD automatic transmission, and 4-Wheel Drive. The CXT uses a Meritor MTC 4208 two-speed transfer case. The CXT gets 8–10 miles per gallon, and has a 70 gallon tank.

The CXT was built at the company's assembly plant in Garland. The pickup beds were supplied by Ford Motor Company who also used them on their Ford Super Duty pickup trucks.

This truck is a 2005 International CXT 7300 4x4 Crew Cab Pickup with a Dump Bed. This truck is completely loaded out with International Diesel Engine with Automatic Transmission. 4x4. Four Doors. Two-Tone Premium Leather. Spring Seats. Touch Screen Navigation/CD Player. Air Brakes. Wood Grain. Big Flip Down TV. Cruise Control. Power Windows, Locks, And Mirrors. And much more.

Interior and exterior are in excellent condition. This truck isn't even broken in with only 16,xxx miles. Truck still looks brand new. Runs and drives perfect. Loads of power. Sounds Great. Chrome Exhaust Stacks. Turns Heads Everywhere.

Press a button and the bed lifts to dump whatever is needed. This is still a real work horse. Whether you need to haul a camper or horse trailer. Or use it on the farm. Or just to have to look professional. It can be used for a number of reasons. You won't have to worry about someone else having the same truck at the redlight.

The custom paint job is very unique. In direct sunlight the trucks gives off a dark green pearl but at night it looks midnight black. Best of both worlds.

This truck is accented with lots of chrome trim and grille. Not to mention the 22.5" Chrome Wheels. This truck will set you apart from the rest. Unlike some of the ford pickups you might see (f650) this is a International, its a step above the rest.

How about a camper payload in the front of the bed and a quad, small 4x4 or bikes in the back? Find a camp spot, tilt and drop the bed to unload the scout vehicle(s), restore the bed and boom. Paradise.

Looking at these, I see quite a few with Marmon-Harrington axles. Which reminds me; M-H makes a CTIS system. Dunno which axles it will work on...

This could be a great package to build on. You could seal some of the exterior compartments and open those areas to the inside to create a larger camper box.

My guess is that any truck after 1997 won't get registered as an RV in the nanny state unless it had a fully functioning "RV" box on the back. Best case scenario would be finding an old trailer for a couple of grand and losing the axle, then bolting it on the rails... Before entering the state.

I think that anyone seriously interested in these bigger rigs SHOULD DO A LOT OF RESEARCH before deciding to "belly up to the bar". Any number of overlooked issues could amount to HUGE repair bills and honestly not a very capable foundation vehicle.

Nobody likes throwing good money after bad..Aye Doug???

+1 on all counts

As I said earlier in this thread, I know next to nothing about these big trucks, and am putting these up here only as daydream fuel, etc.

If anybody is seriously considering one of these trucks, it would behoove you to be much more researched and knowledgeable than I was after the few weeks I had to research and design our rig. (Steph: I can't do this on a boat. Doug: Much wailing and gnashing of teeth.)

Time is the enemy, especially when you are researching a chassis for an expedition vehicle. My (hard won) experience says you should take your time and find multiple sources of experienced information you can draw on and learn from.

:)

So ends the sermon of the day. ;)

Now, back to the high-capacity chassis porn...
