Hi Stico.... I don't know how I missed your project before and I found it las evening and went thru all 90 pages last night ( no sleep) I my self owns a 2003 r50.... Love the work on your rig.. Pls do let me know if you have gear up yours with the tire changes... Coz I feel the gear are acting funny since I changed to bigger tires... 275/65/17Yoko,ego landers AT-S (30%on Tarmac , 60% soft sand, 10%rocky terrain).. Cheers..

Rugged Rocks has a few sets. One common set to find it to get the 4.9 gear sets out of Xterra's. But factory 4.63 should be plenty for 31s. However Eranga is on 33x10s. So if he has factory stock 4.33s. Then I could see why he will notice it greatly.

Hope this shows how far the tires stick out

Eranga, wow you read all 90 pages in one night? my appologies :) 275/65/17 equals 31.1" so a bit shorter than mine. On the other hand Yoko Geolanders are usually true to size unlike the BFGs so overall probably very close to what I have. The general recommendation for plus sizing tires is within 3-4% of the stock size, we're pushing 8-9%. In my experience though when in 4Lo it still has plenty of power to tackle just about anything offroad you'd feel comfortable climbing. Then we have a few guys on NPORA running 35"-37" tires and claim they don't notice any difference so it probably also depends on the elevation/terrain where you live (flat or hilly).

Yes that picture shows it well enough. You Cali guys and no rust haha. When I took my flares off there were tiny red dots and I have personally seen how bad the rust can build-up under them if in the rust belt. Wyoming does not use salt but our long winters can keep moisture there for a while so removing mine was peace of mind. BTW... Your rear axle is incredibly clean! I used a clay bar over my whole vehicle, holy smokes those are cool! Please report the tire feelings after you take them through their paces. As for the black wheels, they look good.

actually speaking i don't feel a power loss off or on road, however feel a drastic difference of gears changing since i change the rubber and the the fluid seams to be fine, however going for a ATF change next weekend lets see if that will help. planing to go on dexron iv currently on dexron iii...

make sure you only use the ATF that is recommended for the Transmission. I would also use the Nissmatic stuff if you can get it. failure to use the proper ATF can result in premature Transmission failure.

^ what bushnet said. The fluid level (low or high) also makes a difference, for a while mine was a bit overfilled and it felt harsher. However, I've always felt the transmission on these trucks is not as smooth as most other autos I've driven over the years (even before the CVTs of today). Nice Pathfinder btw, I love those 17" wheels.

...and just for fun. My collection of spare lug nuts for the Pathy, yeah 3 pairs of spacers will do that :D
