Great forum! Just joined. I love the information, photos and articles!

Here's my website about my truck. My "expeditions" pale in comparision to the ones listed on this forum, but I have several sections that may be of interest:

My Main Homepage

This page generally describes my truck and mods.

This page describes our past major trips.

Lately, I've been concentrating on a lot of local research and exploration regarding abandoned railroad history, but I'm hoping to get back out and take a few long trips this summer, doing a little more of what got me started. Exploring old mines, ghost towns, lookouts, etc.

Welcome to the portal! I have been on your site ( some how found it) and enjoyed reading - I found my buddy Brett's BJ70 photo on there somewhere...

We are heading up to the PNW in a week for a long trip up to AK - I dig your abandoned RR site - fascinating history :coffee:

Welcome Brian! Thanks for posting up, and you have a nice site there, and a really cool truck. Keep posting up and keep us updated on your trips. I am a ghost town junkie also, I love snooping around old town sites and mines an imagining what it would have been like back in those days.

:jumping: Great! New reading material. I will be busy for a couple hours reading through your website and getting new ideas for my truck. :lurk: Looks like a lot of great ideas.

How well does your truck canopy tent works in real life? I had the SUV model, the one you hang over the lift gate, for my Grand Cherokee, but no matter how many bungee cords I used, I never managed to make it fit to my satisfaction. I sold it after I got my Maggiolina.

BTW, almost forgot: Welcome to the Portal!

Thanks! I haven't had a chance to use it out in the field, so I'm not sure. It seems like it would seal OK and should hold up OK to typical summer weather and mild rain. Well see how it keeps the bugs out. That's my biggest concern. Trying to sleep two people in the back of a Toyota truck with a bunch of gear already back there is cozy to say the least. This at least should make it more bearable as it effectively turns a 6 foot bed and canopy into an almost 8 foot bed/canopy.

Here's my page on that truck tent if anyone's interested.

I have been a secret admirer of your website for quite some time... It seems like I have had it bookmarked forever.
