My expedition build up of the 'Duke

Wow. Very sweet. I love that the rear bumper swings open in two directions. I always wonder about all that weight on only one pivot point. Yours looks like a good solution.

Tell me why all LC's aren't the high-roof? I like it.

EWWW DOGGY! Thats a very sweet rig!
Love the angled rear tire mount, the little gap at the top of verticle mounted spares has always been a pet peave of mine. NICE NICE job!

I still don't have the fridge opening the right way yet but I did get it loaded up for our trip to Missinnipi in northern SK this weekend. The 45Q is deceiving in size. It looks small inside IMO. Both my wife and I thought there was no way we were going to get the food all in there. We managed everything plus 12 beers.

I don't know who at engel design the transport bag but the guy should be shot. The clasp at the front is a bear to get into as it is . I am going to make some modifications to that before our trip if I don't run out of time.

Thanks for the detailed photos of the fuel rack. Very creative. I'm anxious to hear how that works out for you.

Have a great trip this weekend -

The fuel rack underneath turned out great. It's a little heavy to lift but the use of a ratchet strap to hold it in place until the bolts are in will help. It's only going to be used on long trips so I think it will be OK.

The Engel worked GREAT. One of those things that you buy and then wonder how you ever survived without it.

as for the air tank, my plan is to have a tank and all necessary electronics to plug into permanently mounted on the truck and have the compressor portable. I am thinking of using the 7 prong trailer wiring hooked up to a pressure switch and relay so that I can plug the compressor into it and the air tank. I haven't worked out the details yet but will figure it out after our trip to Alaska.

Geez Brad. I'm not sure if its the Engel or the company but you're eating better! I remember sitting around the campfire sharing some jerky or Doritos and thinking we were living like kings. Maybe a can of Stagg chili tossed into the fire for supper if we were really feeling like a gourmet meal.

hahaha

Doritos and jerky. That brings back memories!! Throw in a Woodsman cigar for desert and you had the perfect meal. ;) I would like to blame it on the wife but over the last couple years I have really tried to step up my game on the food end. I still pack MREs and enjoy the easy things as well, but if you have the time, a nice meal is always good.

I got the Engel mounted behind the passenger seat. These things take up so much room. I didn't take into account the mounting and have it sitting higher then I was hoping. Good thing the wife is short as that is her side of the bed...

Thanks to Kurt for getting me out a slide lock so quick. Great customer service out of Cruiser Outfitters.:26_7_2:

Nice rig!!!

That is one big LC!!!

Love the extra fuel storage idea! A skid plate out of 12 ga. would help protect a little more.

Keep up the great work!

Have you ever got tired of working on your truck?? I had to change a spring bushing tonight, not a tough job but something I didn't want to do. Normally I would have been excited I was heading out to the garage. Tonight I dreaded it. I am sooo glad we are leaving for our trek on Friday! Anyway, on with the few "final" details. (does it ever end? somebody please tell me it ends!!!)

Have you ever bought something and thought "Holy, that's a lot of money to spend" and then you get the product and you can't believe the workmanship and quality of the product. It's just perfect. And you kick yourself for not getting one sooner. That's how I felt when I opened up my package from www.wagongear.com this afternoon to see my new tailgate storage lid. It was a thing of beauty. The install was straight forward and it works AWSOME! :26_7_2: Thanks to Kevin for great customer service and for building such a great product.

Next up was some storage solutions for the axe and shovel. Those neat quick fist gadgets worked great.

I think all I have left to so to the truck is to drop the oil. Other then throwing in the fly rod and our clothes with a quick stop at the grocery store, we will be on our way.

Oh ya, my wife jen is making a cover for the jack and sewing us up some screen for the sunroof and side windows tonight. Hopefully she will finish those up thursday night.
