Uhm... that's 800F. Pre turbo. (read: that's cold).
Pretty sure we are talking Deg C here. If not, I'l eat some humble pie...

Very cool build and I can understand your attraction to diesels having owned our first diesel 80 series for 3 years now.
Whoa, if you plan on keeping this engine for a long time I would suggest you don't go near 800 EGT! Anything over 700 starts to approach the limits of your surface metal temperature and will start to reduce the life quite substantially. As for intercoolers, not sure if you can get them in the US but Safari power (same company that makes the Safari/ARB snorkels) makes a very nice front mount intercooler that I've read lots of great things about.
You will enjoy this set up.

P
Your right that would be pretty hot if in Celsius, but over here everything is in Fahrenheit.
800F converts to about 425C, so Gifu truck is running pretty darn cool!
Looks great!
I was wondering who was right in front me in line. My Proffitt's swap should done soon as well. Tell John I'll see him and the crew soon
interesting about the RPM at 65-70... also the boost not kicking in until 2k? Good thing it's nothing major and you'll get that all fixed up! Waiting for the pics!
So here I sit at salt lake city airport waiting for my flight to Nashville via Denver, and I must say coming out here to see the facility was an awesome experience! I pulled up to the shop with the cruiser sitting outside like a puppy dog waiting to be picked up!
Jeremiah and John met me and gave me a tour of the facility - talk about cruiser porn! Great bunch of guys. I met with another John who was a top tier Toyota master techician before leaving Toyota to come work for Proffits. Really knows his stuff - he did the wiring on my truck, and took a lot of time walking me through exactly what he did and what everything was in the engine bay - thanks John!
So after a good looking over it was time to turn the key and take it for a test drive. Half a turn of the starter motor and she fired right up.
I went with the 3"free flowing exhaust on this to help it breathe better and although not loud in the lower RPM's once you hit 3000rpm and above it wails like a big cummins - I love it!!!
First thing I noticed that was different was the brakes. Now that it is vacuum driven they are crazy sensitive compared to the gas motor!
Its a real torque monster, but the boost doesn't really kick in until your above 2000 rpm so you really need to get on it. They are gong to tweak a few things for me to have the boost come in a little earlier.
Drivability its great, although I will say on a negative note (trying to give a good review here) that at 65-70mph its revving around 2800 rpm and sounds like it needs another gear. Im currently running 305/70 tires, I think a taller tire will help with that.
Pyro and boost numbers are good, I held my foot into it and hit about 12psi and it wouldn't go past 1200F. Cruising it would stay around 600-700F. Even though that's good im expecting it to be better once it comes home from salt lake which is 4200ft above sea level to Nashville that is only 500asl.
Overall I can say im very happy with everything. Its a clean factory looking install which I wanted, everything functions from the lockers to the AC and everything in between.
The only option I couldn't get was cruise control. Being that it now a manual trans the cruise didn't work. I may pursue this further in the future, but I can deal for now.
I took pictures and video but didn't bring my laptop so I will upload everything when I get home.
Any questions feel free to ask
Dan.
