After 4 months and still no engine, I've demanded a refund. I have found another supplier that is supposed to have them in stock. Hopefully I'll get a refund check next week.

I scored a nice ARE topper at the local Pick-A-Part today for $85! :wings:

Can't wait to get it painted and start on the platform.

I made my sleeping platform today. Kept it simple but functional.

It hinges in the middle to make it easy to remove and install. Just fold it up into a "V" and it pulls right out. Once the plywood is out, I can lift the lower frame out.

Now I need to find some shallow/long tubs to go underneath.

Great looking truck!!!

As for long, shallow tubs, we needed something like that to fit in our side door of our Kamparoo. We found plastic tubs for Christmas wrapping paper fit the bill. Not a great picture but it shows the tub in the lower right of the pic. Even have little wheels on one end to help roll back. Think we found it at Walmart or Target, can't recall.

Good luck on your diesel swap.

I just picked up a Montero SR rear end with locker off eBay for a great price. The ratio and width are the same as my Mazda so I'm going to swap this in. :wings:

Yeah, no kidding. On a good note, the eBay seller for the axle gave me an instant refund and said keep the axle. Now THAT is customer service!!! :wings:

I've found another supplier for the engine so hopefully that goes well.

I finally received a refund only after filing a complaint with the CA Attorney General. But Mr Perez decided to deduct $500 for the shipping and customs fees on a motor that I never received. Even after telling the Attorney General that we would receive a FULL refund.

Just a word of warning before you do any kind of large business transaction, do your homework and check with the Better Business Bureau first (Perez Wholesale Distributor has an "F" rating by the way), I wish I would have.

The company is http://perezwholesaledistributor.com/ and the owners name is Jose Perez.
