Naches to CleElum

A few of us met up for a 4th of July run starting at the bottom of Naches and heading up over to Quartz Mt. and dropping down into CleElum all by way of trails and back roads. It was an awsome day trip, took about 14hrs door step to door step. The trails up at Naches were still very muddy in areas where all you could do is get as far as you could and then winch or be pulled the rest of the way. The back roads were just the opposite being very dusty so I got to try out my new Uni Filter for my snorkel. It is made from the same foam as my TrueFlow air filter, those two together definetly took the brunt of being the middle man on a dusty road. My gas tank skid also had an encounter with a stump, the stump won that one... Over all great trip and we found some new areas to camp and explore next time :)

looks like a great run! I am heading up from Portland to Rimrock Lake this weekend. but I will have my four wheel camper with me this weekend. some other weekend I will have to head up to take on that route. where did you get the pre-filter for the snorkel? I just recently put on a snorkel made by AirFlow, an austrailian company. my first back road outing chasing my buddy around on gravel roads for about 200miles nearly killed my filter sucking in so much dust. I emailed AirFlow and they are sending me some sort of prefilter, but it may take a bit to get around the world to me!

on several local forums we / they have forbidden pics of the hole on that trail or anything on cable trail (which is closed), unless they were being used in support of closing it down. might think about removing them ... you also don't want your plates visible. yes there has been trouble in the past from certain groups targeting wheelers.

i'm plenny guilty myself :snorkel: but the gnomes are watching :Wow1: (PNW reference!)

if you're not on it already, there's a good FB page now for Cle Elum and Naches districts below. they can always use a hand at work parties 'n such.
