New 270 Awning available.

I’m surprised no one makes a rear 180 awning that is around 72” wide when stored.

I’m also surprised no one makes a rear and side awning that connect creating a 270.

One of the coolest set ups I ever saw was from Howling Moon. They had a 270 awning that integrated into a tent creating an absolute massive living space. See below.

I would assume anything under $1000 is made in China, possibly ones over $1000 also.

Most are made in China to my knowledge with the exception of only the super high end like Kingsman, James Baroud, Alucab, and Bundutec.

I just installed a 23 Zero 270 on my LR4. The rear bar that should be parallel with the back of the vehicle isn't quite parallel, and it does hit my ladder a little. Raises the bar up about an inch. I have it mounted as high up as I can with the brackets that came with it. My tailgate opens all the way it just rubs a little. I may have to just protect the metal that rubs for now.

I don't see how the other options would work at all though. The support bar that goes straight back doesn't touch the tailgate.

I do agree that more coverage in the rear would be ideal, but with the tailgate the way it is, its tricky. It gives fantastic shade and space on the driver side though. Very impressed with the side coverage. That is most likely the area I need most as it is where the chairs and table and such would go. Hard rain may still be an issue with the tailgate area, but I was thinking I could get the rear walls and just attach half of it on the skimpy section to make it rain proof.

I'll get some photos up of it soon.

I have to crank the arm on the back up a bit to make the ladder clear, but it does. I don't have to push too hard on the arm. Kinda worries me anyway. It seems really strong but it has some flex to it. I moved the whole thing forward a little to make it better, but I don't want to go too far. Without the ladder it would fit just fine, but I do use it to get up on the roof. Especially when I need to use my roof boxes.

Finally bought howling moon 270 swing awning ... it's a bit heavier but so much nicer than my old chinese 270 awning ...
