Looks a little droopy. Is there anything you do to tighten that up? And is that the 180?

its the 270. I did a quick deploy and didnt worry about tightening. I could tighten the straps and add poles. I did tighten the hinges after I deployed it
Part of it also is my CB antenna was in the way, and I was going to change it for a shorter antenna which isnt a big deal as I use HAM and only have the CB for when I run trails with those who don't have HAM

I am glad I started this thread it has now become a great resource in the search for this awning. You might as well take the Howling Moon off this list. This is the model I really want. Almost in a cost is no object scenario but the one person trying to bring them into the US failed and both South African and Australia won't follow up on getting them shipped to the US.
This is the only model that covers all my needs pun intended. I am now leaning towards either the Darche or Baroud at this point.

Here is one other that I looked at and liked. The issues I had were, you have to order it and wait from shipping from South Africa and no window options in the walls, web site kind of sucks, you have to work too hard to figure out the options.

No hi-jacking, but can you guys post pics of the attachment brackets supplied?
I am most interested in the Darche but can not get a manual to see if I can attach it as I want it for my LOD sliding roof rack.
I want to attach it to the NON sliding(stationary preferably ) frame or the the Sliding frame as long as it does not interfere with the sliding as that is the main purpose of the roof rack.
It allows me to use my soft top as it is intended

One more the Ostrich wing. I believe this is the '30-second' awning from Australia or maybe originally South Africa. At one point I had this in my cart but did not pull the trigger.

They have one in Sierra Expeditions. He supposedly had an order of the higher end products shipped to him that sat on the dock and after months got rejected and sent back to Australia.
After trying many times to get a shipping quote, I finally got one, $600. Assuming this is Australian dollars having a 2.5m HM awning with walls will cost me $2400. While this is really the model I want, I don't know if $2400 worth.
Yea that's just the issue. Never having much product is not confidence inspiring as a consumer. I have no idea, could be HM is difficult to deal with, could be a lack of capital. The guy in Australia is doing it right. His website is better than the HM website in South Africa. Seems like a great product. Possibly its still a soft market in the US.

I hate to pay that much in shipping but even then it is competitive. In comparison I really like the Bundu Awn. The velcro connectors between walls and awn is a deal breaker to me. The James Baroud looks nice but the coverage forward of the awning and would be almost $3k.

I moved the CB ant that was in the way. No more droop on the 23Zero awning. Looking at the pictures, I could have tightened it a touch more

I have been on the hunt for a 270 degree awning for a long time. I appreciate all the info and pictures in this thread. I think one of the big topics for awnings that I haven't seen discussed here is the rear upper tailgate and clearance for them. 4 runners, Land Rover LR3/LR4 and many other vehicles have a rear upper tailgate that can easily interfere with the support beam on a lot of these 270 awnings. The solutions I have seen are usually to mount the awning on a roof top tent or something to get it high enough. I'd prefer to keep mine roughly even with the current highest point on my roof rack which is already about 7' off the ground. We use a ground tent and I don't like putting too much up there. I currently hang my water heater and pump on the roof rack (actually a little shelving bracket that is mounted on the rack. I will move those to the driver (left) side and put the awning on the right side. The 23 zero awning is not ideal from the perspective of rear coverage since I cook on my tailgate all the time, but that arm interference would not be an issue, so it is currently my top choice. I would consider a small add on wall on the rear side that lacks some coverage in case i need to work at the tailgate in heavy rain.
I also like the 23 zero because its packed length is 88" (i think that is an important metric since anything over 90" is sticking way out in front or behind my rack).
Not shown also is the ladder that is probably 5" height added to the left side of my rear upper tailgate.

I saw a darche awning on amazon for like 275 or something. Sounds too good to be true. Is it?
