New Autohome Maggiolina/Columbus tent, the AirTop

We can deliver within 3 months usually. Often a lot sooner. Exact delivery depends on our build schedule, since all our tents are built to order for us.
Good to know. For the moment, my Maggiolina Adventure still is holding up great, but you never know ...

Me again, sorry about all the questions just trying to cover all the bases before dropping some serious dough.... so heres a couple more!

1. I dont know if your familiar with them but can i mount this on the slee african outback load bars? Im trying to find the lowest profile mounts for the tent, and those look like they are the closest to the roof line. Please let me know if there is a better option!

2. is there a "fit kit" for this tent like the maggiolina? Ive been on the autohome website a lot lately and that would be nice to add some racks to the front portion of the tent!

Thanks again for any help!

You can fit them basically on any load bar that. There are two C tracks in the bottom of the RTT in which you have 2 pairs of U clamp thingies. The original U clamps accommodate load bars that are to about 1" wide, but Autohome has oversized clamps to accommodate wider/thicker bars. Only thing you have to make sure is that obviously the bar and tge bar attachment to the vehicle is sturdy enough and that the bar extends over the entire width of the RTT.

This should help http://www.autohomeus.com/details/install_magggolina.php

Derek - I think The Swiss answered your first question.

There is no provision for a 'Fit Kit' on the Air Top. This MIGHT happen in the future. Meanwhile, the piggyback rack option applies only to the Maggiolina Grand Tour and the Columbus Variant.

Looking forward to a write-up on your experience with the Airtop. :coffeedrink:

Autohome Overland Large

Hi All,

We scored an Overland large for a family of 5 (2 biggies and 3 smallies) for $600.00 AUD.

Old school flip over design but simple to set up, bit harder to pack up as i can't get everyone out of it ;-)

It's brilliant for the style of camping we do and with a jack off tray back we can set and leave for adventure with our home ready when we get back.

Baring any unforseen issues I should be getting mine sometime in April. :wings: Just in time for goneMOAB 9

Once I get it I will post picks and any info I think folks should know.

God I can't wait.

Cheers,

Without the handle, you can not open the extreme. The Airtop opens when all latches are undone. Is there any security measures in the Airtop?

There is currently no provision of the 'need a crank' security of the other Maggiolinas. The latches are a new type that work very slick, but they do not have locks. I am looking into a good solution.
