Best root beer there is!!! only problem (to some) is the glass bottles. but I have a feeling that if changed to alum or plastic it just would not taste the same.

Thanks for those suggestions Corey. What a waiver monger I am. Even though I'm lusting after an FJ, TT specifically. I do think that if a company exists which makes an over the cab rack to hold the Maggiolina and I can have my tonneau at the same time I will go that route. I don't like the look of the RTT sticking out past the rear of the truck. It is long enough as is. Any help is welcome. What I picture is having the RTT ontop of the rack with some lights up front. NICE.

Yep, they thought it was beer, and no alcohol is allowed on Boeing property.
During Xmas parties and summer barbecues I always bring in a few cases for our group to drink.
Let us know what you end up with for a rack system.
I dig my FJ, but you might want to test drive one too to see how it compares to your Tacoma.
Yours should handle better since it is longer in the wheelbase.
I wish my FJ handled as good as my '90 Xtracab Toyota 4x4.
Best handling 4x4 I ever owned.

Gas mileage went up some with the new rack and tent lower to the roof.
Lately my MPG has been around 14.5 to 15, and this morning it was 16.5
I have around 28.5K on the odometer, and soon I will be ready for sparkplugs at 30K.
I am sure they are a little fouled by now, so my MPG should go up even more.
My driving consists of around 50/50 city/freeway, and I gas up every Friday morning before work.
16.5 is not bad for a heavy rig with:
3" OME lift
ARB front bumper
Warn XD9000 winch
285x70x17 mud tires and non stock heavier rims
Cargobox full of goods
Roof top tent
Awning
ARB fridge
So my rig is not on the light side
It will be interesting to see what the MPG is later with new plugs, and whatever else might be needed at 30K.
I remember the days when it was stone stock and I got around 21 city/freeway.
Biggest hit was the first set of mud tires at the stock 265x70x17 size on the stock rims.
The MPG went down right away to 19 from 21.
I bet if I was running AT tires instead of MT tires I would gain back even more.
Oh, it is an automatic transmission too.

I have to say I like 1919 Root Beer the best... I've always wanted to do a Root Beer Crawl to the various places that brew their own.

I had a 4x2 '90 Xtracab and it was a great truck. I did test drive an FJ, last weekend and initially when I purchased my truck. I think the FJ handles the same as my Tacoma, maybe not enough time spent in the FJ. The blind spots kill me though. Since the majority of my life I've driven trucks I like having such a good field of view. I can't explain why im lured to the FJ since I truly do not need a change of vehicle. I would hate to get an FJ and then regret it later and miss my Tacoma. I always eyeball FJC's though.
As far as a rack system goes I did take a good look at my tonneau and the cuts which would have to be made in the plastic would not effect the structural part of the cover. I've sent a couple messages to members here, rack companies, and tonneau companies. No responses yet. Seems as though Crosstread is in the lead as a mass produced solution. I think that is what WASURF63 is using with his 05+ Tacoma and Maggiolina. Looks very functional. We'll see.

Since I've done more research and reading here it seems your rack is custom made. Is it a one off or would they make more for someone with similar goals as yours in mind? Was it the same price as the one listed on their site?
Do you know how tall your rig is with the tent? How high is your hood? The reason I ask is because I live in an apt complex and can currently park head in and have my hood under the carport storage, wondering if this will be possible with the FJ. My workplace parking area is the reason I ask about the height with the tent on. Thanks a lot.
Pondering what a white FJ would look like with blacked out trim and a dark tent up top. Any photoshop masters are invited to try that out. Thanks!

The medium tents are just right for my type of rig.
Never measured the rig, but I know when the OME lift when on, the hood was raised about 3".
I will have to measure later and get back to you.

Congratulations Corey! That looks great, and from personal experience I can tell you the BajaRack is a rock solid product. We have been living on the road for 10 months and are very happy with our FJ60 BajaRack.
