As for the JW Mopars, the Jeep rep at the Safari said they were "tooling up" to produce them at that time. He did not know a price or if they would require an anti-flicker harness in newer vehicles. The part number on the display was 82214333. I wonder if Mopar decided to wait and incorporate some of the new design into theirs. The bezel in the center of the light said "Jeep."
It looks like the spread has been greatly improved without sacrificing reach. I bought the 8700's last year to protect the deer on the way home at night. I often see as many as 100 in the final 3-mile approach to my cabin. Even with the 8700s I have now, I turn on the bumper-mounted Rigid 30" bar, but still don't get the spread I'd like. The Rigid bar has floods and spots, but still doesn't light up the side of the road sufficiently. If I had it to do over again, I'd buy a shorter bar with some smaller LED's mounted on each side angled out slightly.
I've already checked availability on the new 8700's and have been told "it shouldn't be long." I plan to replace the 8700s I have now and sell them on eBay.
