Apologies for not reading all 36 pages of this thread, but I have a question. I have a new Trasharoo, used it on White Rim, worked great, but am going to northern Minnesota this weekend and the thought of bears occurred to me...I would think that trash bin hanging off the vehicle would be a bear magnet while camping...how do you deal with that?

Funny you mention this Steve, In each and every box we send out we also send a Warning and Reminder sheet that tells you to take it off in Bear country and raise it into a tree... or somewhere far away from your camp.

Can it be attached to a lift gate? If not, maybe like this somewhat?

I apologize in advance if it has been asked before. The misc pages I looked through including the product website, don't seem to show this being utilized on a hatchback/liftgate like my 08 4runner. If I am mistaken, please feel free to correct me. I have no plans on adding a tire carrier, but do like the idea of having the trash on the outside.

Do you know if attachment hooks, like the ones used on the below pic, an autorucksack, could be utilized with this? I imagine a hook attached to each existing buckle? Say an option (separate and sell-able) that would have 4 rubberized hooks almost directly to buckles that could be added quickly with out changing the original design. Then just easily attaching the bag via 2 points on the top lip of the liftgate and 2 points on the lower lip of the lift gate. Also it would still allow the existing Trasharoo to be used on an alternate vehicle.

I hope that makes sense. The picture should clarify.

The thought has always been there, since the very beginning.

We have always cautiously refrained from making clip kits that would hang on the rear hatch/window configuration because we don't want to have the liability of someone breaking their rear window out while over loading their bag.

Couldnt wait....ordered tonight

Thank you sir! We received your order and the Blue Ribbon Bags are being "Branded" as we speak. It should ship by the end of the week. Our screen printer is swamped and we're sold out of BRC's!! Everything happens at once right? :D

Well, that's a bummer, but from the business side, I certainly understand that. I do appreciate you taking the time to get back to me. I think the Trasharoo is on my list of "must gets". I really want to be able to use this. Tired of little plastic bags or big leaky ones in the vehicle at times. Definitely nice to have a place to put garbage that is picked up on the trail someplace other than in the car as well.

When I do pick one up, I may try something like the clips with it. I have already found that the shipping company supply houses have the coated flat metal hooks for cheap and spare buckles are easy enough to get. Cut a piece of neoprene to velcro to the back as paint protector/soft buffer of sorts and I think this may work.

If I go down this route, I will report back. FYI, it may be a while, with the family growing a bit more soon and day to day life.

Thanks again.

Ever noted the similarity between these bags and canoe portage bags? If they had water resistant bottom panels and the ability to move the straps a bit closer together so you could wear it like a back pack, it would make for and awesome crossover product use.

I'll be using mine for this over the weekend lined with a heavy plastic liner. Beats spending 100 + dollars on a portage pack for sure.
