Your personal use will dictate whether or not a spacer block, and add-a-leaf kit, or airbag suspension will be the answer. For my truck, I constantly have a load of at least 160 lbs. over the rear axle. Adding a spacer block doesn't increase my load capacity, and the airbag suspension is just too many moving parts, IMHO (aka failure points). In my particular situation, the AAL is the answer, since the increased spring rate will be theoretically offset by the added and constant load.

Pros and cons to each, but when it comes to price, the air suspension is the most expensive, and the AAL and spacers are just about neck and neck, according to what I've found doing a cursory search.

Here, chew on the AAL kits before you make a final decision.

That topper you found looks pretty slick. I like the side access windows. That'll save a ton of crawling. When I had a topper on my truck, it was great for keeping everything covered, dry, clean, and concealed, but man, did I hate having to crawl on my hands and knees for stuff that had rolled forward, or was otherwise situated in a hard-to-reach spot.

http://topeka.craigslist.org/pts/4360419084.html this is the topper I am trying to make a deal on. Biggest thing is will this AC topper fit on my DC I'd hate to drive that far to have it not fit

Pretty nice shell. Im gonna say AC and DC bed is different. The DC bed is shorter. Took me a few months to find a shell for my tundra AC as well but I was looking at aluminum ones. I finally settled on one that was for a dodge Dakota and I made it fit. For the price and how hard it was to find full size aluminum shells in my area. I had to do it. I still look till this day and yet to find a full size tundra shell lol.

Well that blows if the AC bed is shorter. Can anyone on here take a few measurements of there AC bed? So I can compare to my DC.

After all the thought last night if it fits I should probably pick it up. Being here in Iowa everyone has GM/Ford/Dodge so finding used accessories for Toyota is a chore.

I think it is really close maybe a half or a quarter inch off, the DC bed is deeper but that obviously doesn't matter in this case. I was in the same predicament when I bought a rack off a guy with a AC for my DC. At one point I had all the measurements... wish I had kept them now. When researching you really have to make sure that the people are talking about the same truck. I had folks talking about 2nd gens or DC tacos saying that the bed is only 4 feet on a DC tundra!

For the record the rack fit perfectly on the bed rails... I place a lot of trust in the Tundrabirds:

Well looks like it should fit I am putting the trust in the good old internet haha. I made a offer on the topper and we will see if the owner gets back to me to accept the offer. If he does accept it I will go pick it up this weekend. So finger crossed!

Sounds like I bought a topper owner took my offer this Saturday I plan on going to pick it up. Pretty excited to get it on the truck

My 2004 AC measurement

Bed rail from end to end is about 77-78 inch long
Measuring inside the bed length with plastic bed cover is about 75-76 inches.

Well after 4 hours of driving one way and a bunch of back roads threw Kansas I found the guys place and saw the topper for the first time. Come to find out its a silver tan color not a sandy tan color like my truck is but I guess I drove 4 hours might as well still buy it. Fit is so so I can't get one side back window to latch but I think sliding it around in the bed will fix it. The gun rack/vault inside is slick plus it has a roof rack I didn't know about. Some cleaning of the carpet and some wiring for the lights it should be good. Then I guess I will have to paint it now to match

One of the many reasons I hate to travel from something and not be what you thought. Color is really close in color isn't? Won't look to odd for a while compare to my white topper and dark red truck lol

If you get the sun just right you can't tell other light and it's bright silver vs my sand tan. Being it was made for a AC it is a tiny bit longer than the bed I am going to attempt to adjust it tomorrow and get pics for everyone the Yakima rack is nice it all works and the owner had keys for all the locks. It's something I can paint when it gets warmer out. Overall I'm happy if I knew the colors were different from the start I would not have made the trip but I don't regret the buy

I think all the extra features help plus it's one less than you have to look for.
