Those look great. I have to say I am both happy and sad about the frabric change. I loved the Olive Drab and how more stain resistant Nylon is, but definitely prefer sitting in canvas. What color is the carry bag going to be? Are you still going to use the same military duffle bag closure? That was a nice touch, that gave it old world charm.

The bag is still water proof OD ballistic nylon, same closure and details, but with a better snap - and we added a sewn-on handle and adjustable shoulder carry strap. This is why we built some sample units for use and feed back -- wanted to get input from users before we built hundreds of chairs. We may have an optional OD nylon seat cover available later, but right now we are doing them all in canvas.

Mike that is great news. The additions to the bag will be welcomed. I have to say, the one thing I was looking at changing on your proto type bag was the snap. I was trying to find a source for Genuine Military duffle snaps like this one, without sacrificing the duffle I have at home.

I'll be interested in seeing what you are going to use.

I just have to say that you are doing a great job of keeping the community update and interested in these. I don't think you will have to worry about not selling them.

We used a standard coil spring driven brass snap on the sample, but I believe that the flat spring snap - as you have in your photo - is the right thing, and this is the way we will go. The flat spring is less likely to malfunction.

I have used brass snaps for years in boating and with my bird dogs - stake outs, chain gangs, etc. I have had some standard (coil spring type) snaps fail. The flat spring is simpler, more reliable. We like simple and reliable a lot.

No orders being taken yet. We expect to begin taking orders before OE. If we do, we will fill all orders ASAP and bring the balance to OE. Not sure how many we will have.

This whole project is highly speculative on our part, but we liked the chair and wanted to build an improved version. So our intial production will be small - just 100 chairs. If people like them, we'll build more.

Those look amazing...but it is the butt test that will really tell the tale thus I will be happy to plant my gimp self in one of these chairs at OX13.
Then we will see if I can resist getting 4 of them
I really like my GCI xpress lounger mainly for the armrest which I need to get out of the chair. I looks like the forward leg supports might be solid enough to push off of with my arm to get out of the chair..that is the only issue that would keep me from buying these.

Not matter what I am impressed with the quality and the commitment to the Overland World and camping world at large. Great job!

We are building chair frames. Waiting on fabric (seat and carry bag) fabrication - lots of small parts (snaps, glide slides, grommets, etc.) on the way. Still on schedule to have finished chairs before Expo.
