Never thought of that. I know wind can be very loud. But I can smell carbon monoxide from miles away ?. Do the propane generators put off more or less noise?

I know there are propane generators but traveling with a gas can is not anything I would do but to each his own.

Hi folks. Appreciate the efforts making this info available. I’m a new D13 owner and I’m trying to verify if the AC can be powered by a Honda EU2200i? Also wanting to verify that the three AGM batteries are being charged from solar with the battery cutoff engaged?

Yes to both. I have a 2200-class inverter and the AC ran fine, and the Solar Controller is attached to the battery bank on the other side of the battery cutoff. Same goes for shore/generator charging power; the inverter/charger is on the battery bank side of the cutoff.

I get the anti generator BS but there’s legit complaints and there’s just stupid. Running a modern inverter 2200-2500 generator during a wind storm so one can cook inside (30 minutes of run time tops) is nothing like the RV dweller running their 3000 watt ancient rattle trap all day so they watch porn on their 50 inch flat screen ?.
Get real man!!!
2gallon gas can is no more risky than your 30lb propane tank run through a bunch of Chinese hoses snaked through a Chinese built RV..

C'mon, it's never too windy to cook outside! Just like there's always a shady side of the trailer, there's also always a lee side. My portable outdoor kitchen (the old reliable Weber grill) is always ready and willing to relocate to whichever side of the trailer is wind free.

You're funny. We're fulltimers and boondock 365 days a year. The last time we plugged into the grid was over nine years ago. Our rig is way too small for a Lazy Boy chair AND two big retrievers, so we skipped the recliner. I was trying to josh with you, but I guess I left out the emoji. ?

Cali my brother easy on tree farmer. No wind in Cali today, ? I agree (on your use of a generator like you describe) being not big deal. I don't mind spending the bucks on lithium and solar because it's lighter and cooler. I don't judge man.

Good point. But you now have propane and gas on board if you run a generator.

Lithium and new technology definitely the future and I’m all for it. But in many cases its cost doesn’t match the power needs especially the 3x a year type?.
Full timers definitely are going to have the most flexible power plan regarding multiple ways to get power to the rig for various contingencies.
I’m not a fan of generators but a good one paired with fast lipo charging ability definitely adds to the contingency plan options.
Any camp rig today should definitely be chosen with its ability to serve as a evacuation pod. Between wild fires out west, big storms out east.
One thing in my trailer shopping thoughts is lower road profile is it enough to make the difference between being able to go… Get out of dodge while others are definitely a no go regarding high winds?
Obviously a Aliner in road mode is superior to a Dweller and a Dweller is superior to a Rpod or Geo Pro regarding high wind and getting out of a region.
Example Wind storms in Colorado this past yr. Had I been in that region my preference would have been to get out before it got bad. The Geo Pro idea I would have been pretty concerned. Dweller less so but still not great. Aliner lol just tip down and get out lol.

I thought long a hard on trailer height while in transit. My Trailer will be similar to the Dweller at 8 feet ish. My Ford Transit is about that with Rhino-Rack on. I opted for a full hard sided rig as opposed to any pop ups. I am hoping with the height of my low roof Ford Tansit that may help. Hope I made the right decision. That new Xplore 145 is 10 feet tall. How do you think it will fair in the CO wind?

Good point on the TV height.
I have definitely experienced tall trailers vs foul wind conditions and its not a pleasant experience ever. Same for my 4x6 total opposite end which has near zero windage factor especially behind a typical SUV height TV. Wind factor is definitely night and day.
