Looking at getting some new springs under my 4runner. So i have been shopping around, and was looking at the OME stuff. I've read quite a few positive reviews about their products. and was curious to see what expo has to say about their leaf springs.

I've had OME coils and Dakar leafs on my Tacoma for about a year and have been pleased with them.

Not as soft/flexy as some springs, but they suit my needs well. I would buy them again.

I actually removed the third leaf out of my leaf packs to keep from having a rake/soften up the ride a bit. Seems to be working good.

I have Dakar HD under my Taco and LOVE them. I complement them with Bilstein 5125s and 1.5" (3/4" lift) All-Pro greaseable shackles.

I don't race or jump or flex hardcore, though; I carry a lot of weight overlanding. They are great for this. (If I wanted to go any heavier for, say, on-board water, aux fuel, big rear bumper, or a trailer, I might consider airbags at that time.) But for now, my rear setup can carry 6-800 pounds beautifully. On the road, with the shell and sleep platform installed full-time, it rides like butter.

Highly recommended.

I have The OME Dakar springs on my 06 Tacoma and I have been very pleased with them. I also had the OME leafs on my older Tacoma and was happy with those as well.

Here's another vote of confidence for OME springs. They ride stiff on my truck if the bed is totally empty but once I put my shell on, they turned super smooth. Your 4Runner should ride nice and smooth all the time with the extra weight over the rear tires.

This is really good to hear. i'm not concerned with flex as much as i am good ride quality esp with 500-600lbs of gear and whatnot in the back.

I'm glad you aren't worried about flex cause you aren't getting any from OME Check out trdparts4u.com for your OME needs. Their customer service is fantastic and their prices aren't too bad either.

I have had them on a couple trucks and like them a lot. With that weight in the back they will be really sweet. Mine flexed way better than stock.

Looks like a bunch of Taco's chimed in, I'll add a vote of confidence from my '88 4runner - stock springs jarred my spine on anything bigger than a low speed bump, now I can drive like a lunatic again :smiley_drive:

I ended up taking the smallest overload leaf out, it resembled a 3/8" lift block more than a leaf anyway, and went back to stock length shackles -> my install

Don't have any leafs myself, but I will add my vote of confidence for andy ARB product. They will make things right, even if their distributor does not. Best customer service experience I have had in the parts industry, period.

I am using OME on my FJ Cruiser and am very happy with it.

Im not sure if the setup you are looking at comes in different "weights." There is stock, light, medium, heavy and super heavies depending how much your bumpers weigh if you have a winch etc..

I am using the mediums but don't have an steel bumpers or a winch.

Hi Jon,

I'm running the OME 50mm leaf packs on the front of my '85 4Runner. They are a big improvement over the stock packs in every department. The bump absorption is much improved. As is articulation--I added longer brake lines to accomodate the extra flex.

I also run OME shocks all the way around and am very happy with them.

You can sometimes choose different weight capacities for leaf packs and valving from shocks (i.e. light/medium/heavy) to tailor them to your application.

My front springs are the "Lights" and they offer plenty of support for the 8000lb winch and tube bumper.

I ordered mine through Rocky Road Outfitters. They had the best prices I could find and shipped quickly.

.... ARB will make it right even if their distributor doesn't... read some reviews of rocky road's customer service before you buy from them.... as you should for every supplier, just to be fair!
