Does this happen in the other marque forums, or just the Rover forums? I don't understand why non-rover advocates come in here and stir the pot all the time. I don't think I've ever gone into the Mercedes, Jeep or Toyota forum..ever.

I'm confused. What's not to like about newer Defenders?

defender is gr8 but noting compare to new Rubicon ( it has better approach angle. 4,1 t case , lockers electric detachable sway bar , stronger motor, larger tires much more aftermarket support , and best of all 20 brand cheaper ,

can defender beat that? no way, like i said i love land rovers but i wont be in denial that jeep Rubicon will step over any rover any day in stock form

So you're saying that if offered the choice between a brand new Defender 110 or a Jeep Rubicon Unlimited to drive away for free right now, you'd take the keys to the Jeep?

Not to mention he seems overly concerned with resale value, and I do believe the Defenders have retained their value just a little bit better than Jeeps have, no?

damn right i would take the new JK Rubicon over new defender, you guys make defender look like a space ship the best man made thing on the planet, i have a classic i know what defender is.


try to convince that to a guy who never seen a defender . its just like a D1 or like a classic rover good but nothing big deal



i am done arguing i am glad u guys love ur land rovers just dont try to bring down other 4x4s , thats why no other 4x4 group likes to hang around with rover guys

Anyway, I have a couple of D2's with blown engines if anyone needs parts.

I could use a D2 windshield and battery cover. What color are your D2's? If one is red, I could use some doors and fenders too,

I am all about diversity, I looked into joining the local solihull society, they wanted $50 and their forum was dead. Instead I joined a completely diverse 4x4 club none of whom discriminate. All I ever hear is how amazing my Disco does on really hard trails. Especially unlocked.

Give me a choice between jeep and LR? I pick LR every time! Why? Because I like them better. Plus like Matthew, I am a mechanic.
Sure I have spent a insane amount of time trying to make my Disco reliable but I have loved every minute of it. Not to mention the cargo space is amazing.
