I have have a set of 35 Xterrains on my Toyota and they are my second set. I have also owned the regular mud terrains a few years back. All have flimsy sidewalls but offer a quiet ride on the street compared to others. The Xterrains either do really well or very poor offroad to the point that its actually quite humorous.
The regular AT is more of an all season tread imo I would go with the Extreme AT or their MT if anything. Even with the deal they are still expensive and I would buy a different brand tire if I wanted to buy new. Just my .02 :coffeedrink:
The last time I was at a retail location, there were very strict guidelines on the pricing, and everything had to be backed up by paperwork. It basically just stated a MAP price. Maybe it's different in Canada?? Who knows!
I used to be with a different tire distributor, and in years past, the Procomp promo was a big hassle. The company I worked for ended up not participating in it because it was too much paper-shuffling.
Procomp streamlined the process this year and actually made it pretty hassle free.
Apparently there is some spot-auditing that they will do at the end of the year, but that's a minor thing compared to what they used to do.
I've had Pro-Comp Mud terrains on my Jeep for years, they wear really well and have preformed great offroad. I've run them in mud, deep sand and on the rocks. Ya do have to be mindful of shifty retailers on the by 3 get one free deal, they are good tires.
price shop different tires.
I was interested in some Pro Comps (1 free deal) but in total, it was cheaper going to America's Tire and getting my usual great service and Toyos.
All in, total price at America's Tire was cheaper for Toyo MT's than ProComps MT with the free deal.
I always stick with America's Tire, I highly recommend them and they price match. Obviously they don't carry Pro Comp but they have all the major brands.
If anyone is interested, I finally received an Adobe file with all the specific details on this 4 for 3 deal -- direct from Procomp.
As it is an Adobe file, I can't copy 'n paste it into a reply, and I'm sure if I could attach it...
If anyone has some mad superior computer skills that I do not posess, I'd be happy to email the document.
I have popped three AT's with sidewall damage. Blown out one, and had the tread seperate annother. Lost lugs on three others. I will not buy them again. Damage to my truck consisted of destroyed rear fender on first blow out. Second damaged front bumper and wheel well. All were 33 x 12.5 R17 AT's on a 2001 1500 Dodge. I finaly bought a set of 35" Trxus tires and have had zero problems. Procomp stepped up to replace used value of first tire only. I now rely on BFG and Super Swampers.
I've had Toyo A/T won't buy again blow out, tread seperated and lack of traction in snow.I'm trying pro comp xtream a/t's now the new Goodyear was out of stock so I went with this.So far so good.If they don't work out I'll go back to BFG.
