Am I missing something? I went online to buy my one-day pass, which supposedly is $25, and $67.80 got added to the cart for one ticket. So it's not really $25 because you have to pay the entrance fee to the event PLUS the entrance fee to the Biltmore Estate?

That's correct. You gain access to everything on Biltmore's property for that price though. You can tour the house, check out the shops and winery. Everything except the paid items such as the Land Rover Driving Experience.

Sweet I will come join you and hang out. Will be nice to put a face with you here. I am just camping so I will have plenty of time. Last year I took my 7 year old and with her and the weather I didnt get to experience too much. She didnt like the vendor area she wanted to play in the rain and mud :D At least she loved it. I cannot wait to get out of here. Leaving with 2 others 1 who is teaching there and we are leaving the morning of the 4th and working our way up there. In fact I was wanting to pick your brain about some places on the return as we are probably going to do the dragons tail and work our way down into GA for a place to stop at for the night. I was looking at Mistletoe SP for the nightly stop but really am open to any place that may be awesome to camp at.

Donny

I will be there in my Jeep with my Ecotrek Trailer
Good dispersed camping along this stretch: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/34....39062,-84.1729112/@34.6678406,-84.2432924,13z

Great area to explore, ride around in. You can take the back way up the mountain and into Amicalola Falls State Park from FS-28. Beautiful area.

Sweet thank you for this. I will check this out at work today.
It's completely wilderness there, btw. If you want a campground, Amicalola Falls has a nice one (state park style), For Mountain, Vogel, etc.
But this area is our favorite for just a spot by the creek.

Even I have to pay as a presenter, Jeff.
The estate is amazing, I hear.

We'll be at the gate Saturday morning at 8:30 when it opens.
Somebody please come to the roundtable pavilion at 10:00... Title is Overland Eastern North America. Dean Shirley and a few others will be with us.

Here's the rig:

I'm most excited to attend the Expo! I registered the day that it was first made available, and in fact I moved up a magazine production schedule at work in order to arrive on Friday. (I didn't tell my boss... I manage the schedule... haha.)

My junk at Lake Powell in 2014....

And last month at the Badlands, South Dakota... (And why yes that is a bison.)

We'll be headed up from TX. Planning to camp and ride moto in the National Forest in north GA and NC for a couple of days ahead of the expo. Any singletrack (moto) or other trail recommendations?

Also, the 5Point Film Festival will be in town, which is awesome. And on Thurday from 4-10pm U-Joint Offroad is sponsoring a van life rally in town. Check it out at https://www.facebook.com/events/307465566260521/
