This is kind of nutty for this time of the year… Bummer for the vendors… Hope the rain doesn't turn into a mud swamp!

I love it. Good thing I'm sleeping in the back of the truck under the camper shell.

Just moved to Flagstaff so this Expo is incredibly well timed. Hopefully I can find someone selling a cheap (under $5000) rig.

Does anyone know the latest time we can arrive and set up camp today (Thursday) ? I can't seem to find that info. We may be delayed just a bit.
Thanks.

Hello, here is the blurb from the email I received from Overland Expo:

Overland Experience registrants: Packages must be purchased before arrival. Registrants can check-in starting on Thursday between 1pm and 7pm. Please plan to arrive during daylight hours. When you arrive, park in the temporary parking lot across the RV park or in the open lot across the road from the Lodge. Proceed on foot to the Headquarters / Registration Check-in area. You will receive your badge, bag and other materials. Don't forget to bring your schedule of classes you signed up for.

Weekend Pass with Camping: Attendees can check-in starting on Thursday between 1pm and 7pm. If purchased before arrival, bring your receipt (emailed to you at time of purchase) and your ID to verify. Upon arrival / check-in, drive right to the Ticket booth for Day Passes and show your receipt to get materials, wrist bands. You will be given a camping pass and directed to the main campground, which is in an open field.

Because of the demand for camping and new infrastructure going in to improve the camping area (yes, we listened!), we are limiting camp access to Weekend Passes and Overland Experience packages only. Camping is allowed from Thursday – Sunday nights. All sites are on a first-come basis.

Worst case you would have to camp Thursday night somewhere temporarily and reposition in the morning. I'm not sure how firm they are about 7pm for getting into the campground, but for sure they don't like people coming in after dark trying to find a site.

There will be a camp host (at least one) who I am sure will be able to help you out if you get there too late to get situated tonight.

Safe travels!

Very good. We've been discussing that option if needed. We are in an F350 with an Arctic Fox slide in, so that opens up some alternate options I suppose. Regardless, we will see everyone tonight or bright and early tomorrow! I appreciate the help.

My wife and I were (are) planning on dispersed camping in the area starting tomorrow night, but we may cut that down to just Saturday night or a day trip only on Saturday if the weather's bad. Bummer, since we've been there for the last two years and had a great time.
