Overlandtowater’s solid axle suburban

You need a cargo area mat, at the very least. There's some nice fitted ones that have about a 2" high outer edge, so any fluids are contained. Especially using an milk crate for that stuff. That cardboard box looks big enough to hold a CV half-axle?
In the early months I used a Sterlite plastic footlocker in back to hold all that stuff and keep it out of sight. A beat up old ice chest is also good camouflage.

I've been farting around for years with an idea for an overhead fishing pole / radio antenna wrack. Cabelas has a few designs. I wanted to do something fancy in hardwood.
Eventually I intend to put some eyebolts high above the 2nd row seatbelt mounts (fitted thru slots cut in the plastic 'C' pillar trim) and fit or make a cargo net that fits right behind the 2nd row seat backs.

I plan on pulling the carpet out of the back as a matter of fact I already cut it just behind the hinge of the third row, I was originally going to bed liner the cargo area but when I pulled it the noise was too loud. I do want to put in a drawer system to hold all the stuff. The box is what they shipped the CV axle in so I just left it. As far as rod holders I'm going to use hammock tree straps that have the built in loops. I need to work on a rack next my buddy just bought a kayak and two fishing kayaks are a little too wide for the stock rack footprint.

I’ve had that same air compressor for 7 years now and the only real problem I’ve had is the outlet hose got a crack in it at year 5 , although after airing up countless tires over the years I will admit it’s starting to take longer to fill up 35s and getting louder .

yeah I watched a lot of reviews, and priced out a bunch of air compressors and the deciding factor was I needed one today and my wife has my other smaller one 4 hours away. but I still would have bought the harbor freight version just because I like to see peoples faces when I tell them where I got it...

Okay so my exhaust has been bumping the frame since I re done it. Tme to cut out a section to shorten the axle hump. Also my brake line is acting as a droop strap I need about three more inches for the axle to droop all the way. Anyone recommend a longer brake line? I know on my Toyota I can extend it by adding a front brake line to the rear any such thing with the chevy?20200310_183110.jpg20200310_183043.jpg20200310_183138.jpg20200310_183027.jpg

dirtdobberoffroad,

Haha, the guy in the vidoe said you had Hummer and F150 parts, thats why your Sub was so capable on a dirt road, lol. F150 keys and H2 rear coils, is that right? Tat Jeep would have pooped his pants if you told him that your truck came with factor rear locker too! Anyway, your Suburban looked great in the video!
Yeah he did when I told him it had a locker. I told him leveling keys for the front some people just use f150 keys and hummer h2 coils. He would poop his pants if he seen your sub.

That axle was hanging by your rear brake hose, man. Gotta watch out for that. The clip that holds the brake line T is held by one of the top diff cover bolts IIRC.

Not completely the sway bar was tipped so far up it was resting on diff cover, but yes too much weight on the brake hose either way.

So when I did my trip last month I noticed the passenger rear brake was dagging and getting hot, I gave it a few raps with a hammer and it seemed to stop dragging. The past couple of time I ran into town and back I could smell the brake again.

Do you think I just need to bleed them really good ? When I did the brake job cleaned everything good and greased the pins and the ends of the pads where they make contact seemed like everything moved easy enough.
