I just purchased an old Ford F250 that has an OVRLND camper on the back. The owner would not sell the truck separate so I ended up buying the truck and camper with intensions of selling the camper and buying a slide in camper. I ran across this thread and soon went on a binge and read all of it. You all have some great ideas, and I'm now thinking of doing a build. It needs some window as it seems a little plain without them but this camper is sure cool!!

I saw this pop up (pun intended) on Marketplace! Looks like a great turnkey solution. Maybe look into some Arctic Tern windows to brighten things up a bit?

I was going to sell it but I think I have decided to keep it instead and build out. Wife does not want me too as she wants something more comfortable, and in her words "more eye appealing"!

I get the "more eye appealing" comment for the outside. But you can certainly make the interior more comfortable and eye appealing in my opinion. Here is what we did for the interior. Now when we see big name slide-in campers, they don't seem as comfortable to us for how we use our rig. Good luck with the build and post about what you do.

It's so funny you commented on my post. When I was reading the forum I saw your build and showed it to my wife. She said "if you can get the inside to look like that, then keep it". I love your U shape design. Nice work.

FJWillis; This is one of the best build outs I have seen, you did a great job putting it together. Did you build everything yourself or purchase the interior? It looks like an 80/20 build, where do you put your fridge? Thanks Jeff

What material did you use for your drawer faces? Also the rest of the drawer?

How did you do your sides? I love the black material look.

If you are talking about the interior walls, they are just 12"x12" carpet tiles over rigid foam. I like the carpet for the walls, but i f I had to do over again, I would probably put carpet over a 1/4" sheet of wood and attach that to the walls.

Thats good to know, I was considering not using the 1/4 inch plywood. I was considering thin carpet like what they sell at home depot (very thin and light) and attaching with Velcro. It probably would not work as well as the plywood.
