I might go. Though the show's offering is usually disappointing. There are a handful of restored classics that are usually very nice. A selection of rigs that are all show and no go. And hundreds of hack jobs and trailer queens that start to look like they popped out of a mold. The parking lot usually has a better offering because it seems like only the Jeepers who want to show off their axle-swap, and sawzall-job enter their vehicles into the show.

Show me a tastefully built Jeep, that is washed, waxed, well taken care of, and USED regularly on the trail, and the show would be a lot more interesting to me.

Normally the best use of that show has been to go and find something to buy cheap. Vendors with parts on hand are normally willing to barter a good bit. Its also useful to find used parts that are hard to come by.

The show part of it leaves a good bit to be desired. Granted, I've only been there as a vendor...:

No doubt.. Try working a booth all weekend. Between that and the dust that gets kicked up by the race track.

One of the gimmicks we were looking @ doing for out booth was getting a bunch of our logo printed up on bottled water and giving them out at the show. Never quite got around to it though.

I had been planning to bring my "Safari Cab" modular hardtop project to show, but the idea of sitting in the sun and heat for two days just doesn't sound like that much fun, so now I'm thinking of just running down for half a day as a spectator and leaving the Jeep in the parking lot...

(photo above shows project as it looks at this moment with mocked-up paper windows, haven't installed glass windows yet).

I would like to make it there. Just not sure about a family situation we are dealing with in NY. If we are home I'll probably run down either Saturday or Sunday morning to beat the heat and possible T-storm.

A quick passing T storm would be nice, will cool things off and settle the dust. One went through last year on Friday during setup and it really helped cool us all off.

Hope to see some of you there. I'll have a Red XJ probably in the camping area only, not sure if I am going into the show or not.
The Xj looks like this!
