Pa jeeps show 7/17-18,2010

I was able to score a passenger side mirror for $6 and a taillight for $4, so I went home happy.
I had not been there for a couple years and was suprised at how many vendors were there.
The show portion is kind of a joke. A few years ago the vehicle that won the CJ class was a wreck. Five different colors , a giant blower style hood scoop hooked to nothing, bald tires, no seat belts, it basically looked like a parts vehicle. It turns out that the judging is all peer. This guys whole club (one of the bigs ones) got together and voted for him b/c he had been a member for 20 years. We were camped beside him and got the story. I fel tbad fo the guys who had some really nicely restored Cjs.
That said, there were some really nice rigs in the show, it's just not a contest

I need help
Could you guys help me get the word out that we are putting on a all breeds jeep show in Iowa sept. 25-26 in the town of Nevada Iowa 50201 . We hope this will be an annual event. We are however also inviting scouts, early broncos , landcruisers, landrovers and toyota fj , etc. It will be a show/swapmeet/driving skills course. for info Larry Reinsch 515-708-0080 thanks guys

It was great meeting Dryrock and NJJeepthing! I almost didn't go. GASP...I know...
Now that my wife saw the ARB awning on dryrocks jeep, she wants one for ours. I came home from work today and caught her searching google for a cheap price on the 2500 model!
Dryrock it was great to hear from you and your daughter about the Vermont event. I can't wait until next year! I also look forward to hearing about your transVermont trip!
Sorry to hear about the XJ njjeepthing. I had a starter die in one of my XJs on the turnpike a few years ago.
Good show overall. Wish I could have spent more time there and walked away with the new Garvin rear bumper set up! I talked to the owner of the company for a while and he told me it will be out in 90 days.

The show itself is ok there were over 650 jeeps. Im sure there was some undeserving winners but its a car show the best isnt always gonna win. The swap meet was phenominal! The obstacle course was great. The camping was free and it was loaded with nice people. Hell theres a show in the camp ground. I learn more and more about jeeps everytime i go to ths thing.

I think everyone meant from an Expo perspective it wasn't much of a showing, at least that's what I meant.
By the way camping isn't free, your suppose to register and pay at the building down by the bath house.
Swap meet vendors were much better this year a lot more of them, and a lot better stuff, in past years, some of it was just junk.
And yes I agree, there are a ton more Jeeps outside in the parking lot and campground to drool over.

Damn! Should have spent more time wandering around the parking lot. I would have liked to see that in person. Are you going to the Carlisle Truck Show?

I went to the Carlisle Truck Show last year, and was underwhelmed by it, especially considering it is a 4 1/2 hour drive from where I am. I doubt I'd be going this year, sorry.
