Pequod and moby

I finally started on Moby, the expedition trailer. After extensive research and planning I could not come up with anything that didnt look weenie behind the mog. So Im building. I have had a m109 waterbuffalo trailer frame for a couple of years waiting. Last week my neighbor gave me a old utility trailer that I am cutting down for the box.

1. Winch the box onto my frame
2. Cut off the old axle and tires

I had originally planned to leave the existing frame and supports underneath the trailer. But after looking at it-to many booger welds and bad fab for me to leave it. So Im currently cutting off the excess steel to build a proper mount. The nose box that is on it is a badly built add on by one the the many owners. It is going to be cut off-especially after I caught it on fire last night with a torch. The rest of the box is steel with slide out custom bins. Enjoy

I have lots of metal to remove from the old frame and the one Im putting it on. I keep telling myself to think lite. I will try but it may not be possible with this unit. Pics attached are of the inside bins and sliders. The box has 2 doors on each side, then barn doors on the back. Plenty of rooms for slideout tables and kitchen. The trailer will be unique but lots of body welding in my future. Enjoy

Progress on Moby is slow. I finally got all of the old frame cut off the box. The nose box was removed but the inner liner of the box was wood. Constant fire fighting took place while cutting booger welds with the torch. Attached are a few pics of the latest progress. Im currently getting measurements for placement of the front aluminum box and cutting off of the excess frame on the rear. enjoy.

That trailer box makes the perspective on that beast come alive, what a huge trailer, but if it is going to tow behind a MOG then it looks just right! :coffeedrink:

Keep it up, looking forward to seeing it progress.
