Phoenix Camper find

New to the Pop up camper world but I found a Phoenix pop up from what I was told the early 2000's. Not sure on the model or the weight but I'm going to hit the scales tomorrow and see what I'm dealing with.

Congrats on the find. I have one very similar looking minus the A/C and all the roof rack rails. Mine is a 2003 Sasquatch model and is 8' in length. I am interested is seeing what yours weighs, I have never had mine on the scales but I can feel that it is much lighter than my 2 Northstars. Does yours have rear bottom skirts, can't tell in the pics. I have been very happy with mine and do alot of off-grid camping in it.

Thanks for the info, It's very hard to find anything on all the phoenix campers. I believe this one is right over 8' being that it hangs over the tailgate about 4" Mine does not have the skirts on the rear of it. I'd like to see some pics of yours sometime. I'm still trying to figure out what everything does, I didn't get an owners manual so I'm flying blind. Here's a few more pics of the inside. I have some more cleaning to do today, the soft part of the pop up has mildew on the interior

Mine also hangs out the back a little, and the interior pics look almost identical. I will get some pics of mine for you. I have a small bathroom at the rear passenger side (toilet and shower) that I have altered some and will eventually remove the plumbing for the shower and just leave the toilet in a small enclosure. Everything else looks the same. I have been wondering how much it weighs...I guess around 1700-1800 lbs dry, definitely feels very light on my 1-ton.

I ran it across the scale and it weighs in at 6740 unloaded I'm right around 5000 even so you were right on the mark. I'm considering gutting the inside and saving seeing how light I can get it I have airbags on now and it feels very top heavy. Thanks for sharing your experience with the Phoenix camper.

I have a very similar camper. Early 2000's. We have enjoyed it but are chasing roof leaks constantly. Think we got them all now. Great camper, you will have fun with it. I have mine in a 2005 chevy 1500 with timbrens and it works great

Edit- phoenix has always been very good at getting back to me with any questions I have.

Thanks for the info dtimms, It is indeed an early 2000's model Phoenix Sasquatch. Phoenix got back to me very quick. I was wondering if anyone else had one of these bigger campers on a 1/2 ton pickup as well. I have the firestone airbag kit on and was wondering how a timbren setup would do with the weight. So far I have not spotted any leaks, it was set up in my driveway over night when we had a pretty good storm and there was no evidence of leaking the day after. However, I do have some staining of the interior pop up section but I wondering if that is only from being stored unused for so long.

Here's my '03 Squatch. Hasn't ever leaked and everything still works like it should. The overhead looks different than yours, however these are all custom made to order and no two are the same. The staining on the liner is most likely the inner insulation layer bleeding thru. Very common on these when they get wet, they do get condensation inside when camping in very cold conditions. I clean mine with a spray on foam cleaner when it starts looking too bad. Looks like a coffee stain and you can see some on mine in the front.

Wow that's a nice camper in great shape thanks for sharing. That's a good point about the condensation, and also a good way to remedy the problem I've been scrubbing it with spray cleaner.

Cheers from another 'local' with an early Phoenix. I saw that one on craigslist, and one of my buddies called about it. Unless you're them, it looks like you got there first. Happy campin!

Hey subterran thanks I actually was gonna sell it I listed on here and Craigslist but had second thoughts. I have been encouraged by your Phoenix build. I stripped the bathroom out if it and may take a few more things out to save weight. I'd like to see your set up sometime to get some ideas.
