Front and mid axle... rear is a full live axle with all the internals, just not receiving drive.... yet!

Hey Keyblazer, Here is a link to a company I found awhile back:

http://differentialeng.com/Home.htm

I have not dealt with them so I cannot endorse them, nor am I affiliated in any way with them, but their products look good.

Your van is really cool!!! My girlfriend is wanting more (read shower) room than my EB has. I showed her yours and she wants me to not only do the 4WD conversion that we have planned but asked how hard it would be to make it 6wd!!! So thanks for such awsome pics of your rig. Good luck with your project.

Thanks,

How long did it take them to complete the installation? Did you have any problems afterwards? Thanks so much.

Lyn

It took longer then both, they and I, anticipated. The reason were unexpected circumstances--from the number of vehicles getting done at the same time and not enough mechanics in shop to the front water tank having to be removed to cut a section off to make room for the 4x4 conversion. Nonetheless it got done. Besides the 4x4 conversion they also added a front air-locking diff, Rancho adjustable shocks, and upgraded the brakes. I also asked them to attach the bumpers, lights, and winch from Aluminness.com.

The van has been ABSOLUTELY incredible with the 4x4 conversion. The only problem I have had repeatively was the ARB compressor would burned out somehow twice. Each time they replaced it. The last one has worked like a charm until recently when some ?mouse/animal ate the wire--thats what the mechanic said.

I would absolutely do it again and use the same company (Advanced Four-Wheel Drive). Mechanics always comment about the built. Hope that helps. Jose

Well, this doesn't "look" like much yet...but I have been working on it every day for the past fourteen months.
The four cylinder diesel Mercedes engine is freshly rebuilt, the drivetrain is completely refurbished, brakes are done, seats are installed.
Today I worked on the raised roof fabrication. I plan to have it painted and have the kitchen and bed in place by this Summer.

That baby rocks!! Everytime I see one of those, I think it's what an old VW Bus aspires to be! Funky lines, two-tone color...

Please post more pictures as you go! We would all love it.

Here, here. You must have gotten the camera out for a few of those everydays for fourteen months.

Hey Adventurerider; did you swap your Sprinter for a Ford? Or am I confused (or both).

T Low, I couldn't agree more, If you ever need to find a home for it, I would
like to put my name down 1st on the list. I have a killer 911 C4 with an Andial 3.8 in it that I would possable be willing to let go for that baby, again awesome Westy, seriously 1st on the list!!!!

Sorry T Low,

I didn't see the quote, no we still have the sprinter but I gave it to our business to use and picked up the Ford (soon to be Ford Cummins Allison) last year, a little more bomber proof for what we need at the moment with the rug rats and where we like to go, and with them.
