My projects:

1992 Toyots VZN130 (3.slo V6 manual - just about poverty pack)

1996 Kanga Camping Trailer - 400kg tare weight, Land Cruiser 60 series shocks on independent suspension, 6 stud Japanese pattern hubs, 750kg ATM... but because the Toyota is a Toyota, I need to fit brakes to it as the 4Runner can only tow 400kg unbraked...

The trailer is going to get sand blasted, fixed up and re-painted prior to getting a Gordigear Taiga tent fitted to it. It'll then come in at about 520kg, leaving me a little bit to play with (230kg) until I fit the 60litre water tank... so, very snug in payload. I can pay a chunk of money and get it uprated, but at the moment I'm not going to worry too much, instead focus on keeping it nice and light.

Excelsior!
Fully loaded. I'm looking for a better way to carry 4 bikes.

Can you use the space on your trailer lid? Buy or build something like this truck bed rack. Maybe modify it to fold down when not in use. Add four sections of U shaped aluminum channel to hold the rear wheel of each bike. Do you have a build thread somewhere to move this discussion to?

I do have room on top, and that's what I'm thinking actually. The lid is pretty sturdy. My build thread is here: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/154313-quot-Backpack-quot

My current project. A 60s era Roset 1/4 ton ex army trailer (Dutch M416 copy) which will be turned into a camper trailer. Wheels will be the same as on the LR, will be the same color and a RTT will be fitted on a hinged frame on top. It already has the tongue extended and an Aussie McHitch fitted instead of the Nato pintle.
First test offroad, went very well! Better than expected really.

Homemade Offroad Trailer

Converted it from a utility trailer for carrying a couple dirt bikes and garden waste, to be able to also take it on off road camping trips. Rack extends to accommodate motor bikes. Locking lid opens for cooking surface.
