My 1967 Series IIA 88" project is wearing some new BFG 7.5R16 KM3 mud terrains - tall and skinny "Pizza Cutters" - the perfect size for an old Land Rover (some assembly required).
The goal is to have it running and driving by next Spring. Engine has been balanced and blueprinted, transmission rebuilt, frame sandblasted and repainted and a disc brake conversion added to the front axle.
It has parabolic springs and will be better than new when it is finished. Its a labor of love with no discernible budget (other than lots!)
I owned this truck for five years from 1973-1978 and I finally tracked it down and bought it back in 1996, towed it home, drove it into the garage using the hand brake and took it apart.
After doing full restorations on a couple of Porsches to warm up I decided to go way over the top with this project as it is very near and dear to my heart.
