1969 Land Rover Dormobile

An original Dormobile conversion, however the seats and cabinets are not original. The seats are actually a lot more comfortable than the original Dormobile seats and still fold flat to form two beds, and the passenger seat swivels to face the table when installed. Bought it from these guys in Germany: www.landy-point.de. They specialize in classic Land Rover restorations and conversions. Beautiful shop in a beautiful location!

Getting ready for spring

Now that the weather has started to warm up I am getting the Dormobile ready for the summer camping and car show season.

New Waeco fridge and counter tops on the cabinets:

Added a sink and cutting board. The sink is a collapsible wash basin and the faucet retracts. This allows everything to fold flat and maximize storage when not in use. It also easily removes for acces to the storage area. Still need to do the plumbing, the drain will run to the original Dormobile drain hole and the water tank will be a standard jerry can that fits in the cabinet with a submersible pump. (not sure why some photos are sideways)

Sink collapsed and faucet stowed

Sink and faucet extended.

Added a sliding counter top to acces the stove storage.

Wouldn't ever actually cook with this stove here due to fume concerns with white gas or unleaded. But I love the flexibility and durability of this stove and like being able to use the same fuel that runs the vehicle. I am looking at adding a propane burner to make this a "three fuel" stove. If that works then I could use that for the rare occasion that I need to cook inside due to weather.
