Here's a trip to Cape Lookout this summer.
The only way to the island is by ferry service.

Here's the set up on the beach at the point, the wind was blowing hard out there.

This is the second site, not as windy.

Where did you hop the ferry at? Im new to NC and looking to do the same type of trip.

The ferry goes out of Davis NC, there is two services you just have to go on line and make reservations. Look up Cape Lookout, that is after the government opens back up again, the web site is down until they open back up again.
If you don't want to camp you can rent a cabin through the park service, it has hot / cold water, shower, toilet, and a kitchen (gas stove top), no power though. If you bring a generator you can hook it up to the cabin and have power. Also remember to drop the pressure out of your tires or you will get stuck in the sand. They have air available when you get off the ferry at Davis. Enjoy

Thanks. I'm looking forward to making it out to te OBX to do some remote beach camping. I ALWAYS air down. Even on trails and especially in the sand. Lol it makes the Jeep ride like a cadillac, too.
