Thanks Yeti. I wasn't realizing it was a pic you found vs your own rig.

Looking forward to getting one.

It would be great to hear anyone in the Autohome group that has any comments on the wet weather exposure that would be great to hear.
I have commented many times in other tent threads that I have never got rain in my Maggiolina AirLander before.
The doors are not left open long enough when entering/exiting it.
I also leave the side doors and windows down a few inches too, and never get a drop inside.

I do have the side awning for it too like in the pics above, but have never set that up yet.

I find it an affront to nature that there is any piece of camping gear you haven't personally sampled, let alone that you already own and haven't yet used...

Heresy, I say! :D

He he he...
It is sitting in a corner of my spare bedroom where all of my camping gear is.
Maybe this spring when I open up the tent to air it out and wash the sheets I will try setting it up partway.

I would like to utilize it.
Its just that in the rain I have encountered I really did not feel the need to have it.

If I do eventually set it up while on a trip, I may have to bling it out with some LED strips running down its sides.
Blasphemy :D

Bring on the LED bling, Corey!

a year and a half later, i am still convinced maggi is the way to go. now, i've convinced my other half too. he suggested that "just in case", we mount it on the 80 again before heading out on a, hopefully one day, 800 mi road trip. at 6', he still thinks the medium is fairly comfortable. i, being the responsible side of our relationship, is still thrilled that on this trip, it won't affect our fuel mileage noticeably and, even a woman like me, can move it from one of our pigs to the 80 ;). like my warn m15000, this is a vehicle mod that will stay with me should the vehicle go.

I have a tent cot also. you were asking about mounting it on the roof rack? ... here is a pic or two of mine mounted on my roof rack. About an hour after taking this pic we had a sudden downpour. It rained hard for about 30 minutes. I stayed in the tent and stayed perfectly dry. Another time it rained for a day and a half while it was set up and it stayed perfectly dry.

how does it handle on the road while racked in terms of wear, vibration, and sturdiness, etc? cool setup and more within my budget.
