I guess I'm the only one (so far) to have an Oasis, judging by this thread...

IF I could ever do ground camping, I'd have a Springbar... What I really want is a Taco with a ATFP (flip pack), but that's going to be a while...

Hi Honu,

I lived in the UK for a number of years before moving to Vancouver (BC) - I brought my "tent trailer" with me, in a container, when I moved over.

I haven't seen another one like it in Canada yet, which is a pity as it a really comfortable way to camp.

It is very wet in Vancouver, having grown up in Southern Africa in a "semi desert" region - most of the locals think I'm nuts when I thrive in the rain.

One mans curse is another's blessings I guess!

Mombasa RTT. Love it! Very comfortable mattress and you don't have to worry about uneven/lumpy ground. The wife is more at ease about being above critters too.

I think the idea of a RTT on pickups and mounted low is super cool :) keep it out of the wind drag etc..
tons of storage under it
always thought if I had a Pickup and a RTT that would be the way to go

seen a few of the Thule racks for PU and a RTT on top :)

I wish I had the money to have a huge tent collection :) I used to have 3 main tents back over 20 years ago a nice 4 season Moss a Sierra Designs for tropical which got the most use and forgot the brand of the other but was cheaper but nice setup for when I dont care about what I was in and did not want to abuse my Moss
I love the big OZ house tents also :)

best of both worlds

My wife and I have been having a wonderful time exploring the PNW in our Cascadia RTT.

I use my Mosquito Hammock when I'm in the deep woods by myself.

just an update on the kamp-rite oversize tentcot - spent the night in it on top of 4 peaks the other weekend in probably some of the worst rain i've ever camped in and no leaks. lots of condensation, but that's to be expected with anything that small and cool air outside and a mouth-breather humidifier inside ;)

Yup, I love my Double Tent Cot - warm, cozy, and dry no matter how bad the weather! It's just bulky and heavy to transport.

i bought some waterproof material from ebay and a upholsterer friend sewed me up a giant roll-top dry bag to put the whole thing in and so now it can stay on the roof rack even if it's raining on the trip (out of the way).
