Post your tents

nuclearlemon, glad you are digging the Maggiolina.
It sits on your rig very well.

A few from August of last year.
Due to a leg injury I sustained this past spring, more than likely I will not be doing any camping until May of 2012.

These few pics are on the new BajaRack I got spring of 2010.
Tents sits much lower than on the factory rack, and I am very pleased with how the rack turned out.

My buddies have rooftop tents on their off-road trailers which work really well for them. I almost went this route after I upgraded from a ground tent and then to a 2-person tent cot, but my wife and I wanted some more space, room to stand, and room for a "honey bucket" since she doesn't like to use a tree. Our solution was a Lifetime Tent Trailer, which is still small and light enough to tow behind a Samurai, Sidekick, or Tracker, yet big enough to sleep 2 couples comfortably and haul just about anything else we want along with it.

Here are some photos from Labor Day weekend:

for sure you put bigger tires on and anything else you modified on the trailer to do so or any more details :)

Yes, I put 31x10.5 tires on 15x7 wheels, and made some new fenders to cover them since the fenders it came with are designed for little 13" trailer tires. I also added one of the new-design Lock'N'Roll hitches (the ones that DON'T bind up) because L'N'R makes all sorts of trailer-side couplers for different trailer tongues, including the 3" square tube that these Lifetime trailers come with.

thanks :) so just the wheels and tires ? no need for a new axle I guess :) thats handy and cheaper that way :)

saw the lifetime thread but no info on the wheels :) like the rig used to have a suzuki years ago two of them actually and miss the small fun factor of getting places people thought they would not go :)

No suspension mods, no new axle....still using the 2000lb rated axle with the standard 5x4.5" wheel lug pattern, but you'll need a wheel that has 2.5" backspacing to get the tires' inner sidewalls to clear the frame.

The OEM tires measure 24" in diameter so the 31's I'm using now provide roughly 3.5" of additional clearance. The platform legs and stabilizer foot & jack all have plenty of length to accommodate the additional height. I bring some pieces of a 4x4 post cut about 6" long to use if I'm setting the tent up on really irregular ground surfaces, but haven't yet needed them.

i have the El Dorado pop up tent for the past 2 years.
So far been holding up great. been through couple storms with high winds and heavy rainfall without a glitch.

I purchased it because i wanted something that was easy to set up and take down for those on the go trips.
