Powerfilm Solar

Powerfilm Solar had a booth at the Consumer Electronics Show in January. They have a range of solar chargers for all sorts of applications. They have products designed to be mounted on rigid structures like building roofs, but they are best known for their flexible panels attached to fabric. Some are as small as a tool roll, others as big as a 22x40 foot tent.

Lots of possibilities for overland vehicles. http://www.powerfilmsolar.com/

I would never camp again without one.
I run an ARB fridge and it is good insurance to keep the batteries topped off as I do not like to start the rig when camped.

I bought a PowerFilm F15-3600 60 watt solar panel from Adventure Trailers last year.

I like the foldable ones as they can flex over surfaces I think better than a roll up type would.
Here it is in use.

I have one of there AA/USB folding solar chargers. I love the little thing! It can not only charge AA batteries for use in most of my gear, it can also charge my pda/smartphone through the USB port. It can also function as an AA battery phone charger when closed using non-chargeable batteries....though they don't tell you that when you buy it :)

It also came with nice Eneloop batteries.

Most of my gear....flashlight, camera, gps, radio, etc...all use AA batteries.
