American Expedition Vehicles, Overland Journal and professional photographer Sinuhe Xavier will be featured on the SPEED Channel’s Dangerous Drives TV Show on March 24th at 9:00 PM EST.
The show documents the dangers of route planning, variable weather and general overland travel that occur while doing jobs that are 4WD dependent. Weather was the name of the game, with the team pulling into Moab in early December to the worst storm Moab had seen in 40 years. This caused some on the fly route changing and made product testing that much more difficult. Sub zero temperatures and up to 30” of snow for six days of camping made the normal Moab trails a bit more challenging to say the least. There was plenty of AEV gear on hand, Scott Brady had Chrysler's “Overland” JK on hand with a complete set of AEV gear on board as well as Dave Yegge’s Blue HEMI powered Brute and the newest AEV development and testing vehicle, AEV’s “Savegre” JK with the new VVT HEMI :wings:

I checked for this last night (23rd) on speed, have done a title search, and cannot find any reference to this episode here. Are these things done regionally, or by cable provider?
I am on comcast.

I would love to see this episode. Anyone know of a youtube version of it?

Thanks
D

That was great! Man I would give my spleen to have been on that trip (though I HIGHLY doubt my truck is capable enough to make that ledge.)

(and and when I say highly doubt..i mean NO WAY IN HELL)

I was lovin the look of that hemi jeep...actually I was loving all the rides!

What happened to the rovers passengers side headlight, I noticed it was "missing" after the frist night. Though I think he had plenty of light with that rack.

Great show and great trip guys!

Ok so... it was fun to watch at and all. Good videography, cool trucks, etc.

But, did the producers really exaggerate things a lot, and ask you guys to say things? Like, the first "obstacle" the creek crossing. Scott decalres "that's pretty deep" and it's... about up to the middle of the wheel it appears. That's deep?

The ledge looked like it was hard to get up, no doubt. But where was the cliff that was threatening the vehicle? The cameraman is standing like 50 feet to the right of the truck, and there's a wall on the left side of the truck. So unless the cameraman was in a helicopter hovering over the cliff, I can't see where the cliff was? Maybe just the camera angles didn't show something I dunno. The show just struck me as being more "Man Vs. Wild" and less "Survivorman".

And then I gasped watching you guys winching off of the Jeep hooks, which was bad enough, but pulling almost 90* to the direction of the hook. :Wow1:

Yeah, I kinda thought the same thing. Maybe the camera took away from the angles? Although Scott looked a little chubby...:coffeedrink:

I was wondering the same thing.
x2!
